Hello all, as in the title i'm new to this ttc and mumsnet business and advice greatly received.
I came off the pill in august after being on it for approx 12 yrs. This week I've felt some strange sensations in my stomach, a little like 'popping' and cramps. AF due in 7 days but just been loo and seen a substance like ewcm. Is this normal? Although we are ttc we are just dtd and seeing what happens we are not ovulating testing etc just yet!
thanks in advance for any replies.

How do you know when AF is due? (Especially if you don't know when you ovulated).
It could be that the EWCM is indicating you are about to ovulate in the next few days. Or it could be that the EWCM means nothing (it can appear throughout a cycle for some people). It could also be that your cycles and hormones have not settled yet after coming off contraception

Hello and thanks for your response.
I use a period tracker since I came off the pill and it has predicted AF due date correctly since i came off the pill in august (which isn't long ago i know). We've only been ttc since then admittedly we are taking the 'if it happens it happens' approach but its difficult to not get caught up in the symptom spotting and then wondering 'what if iy isn't working properly' lol. as i said, im new to this ttc malarky so i will prob have some dense questions to ask. ;)

Don't worry, we have all asked 'dense' questions at some point.
A period tracker works on estimates based on the average cycle... So it being accurate is either that you have very average length cycles or luck
For some people EWCM is a strong indicator of ovulation, for others (like me) EWCM can appear at any time during their cycle without indicating ovulation - I think you will only know what it means for you after a few more cycles
The one thing I would say is cycles after quitting the pill can be very erratic for some people (even if they initially seem regular). So don't be too disappointed if it takes a few months to settle into a regular pattern
