Decided with DH to take a dive and go for DC2.Will see if (and when) it's going to happen.I'm not using opk's or monitoring my cycles as the last time it drove me mad.Anybody else?

Hi. We are TTC DC2 also. Started in May got a BFP in July but unfortunately MC at about 9 weeks. Waiting for AF so we can start again. Not OPK for us. I did buy some cheap Amazon ovulation test when TTC DD but never had a positive result!!!

Hello MissRabbit.Sorry to hear about your mc.I used to go mad trying for DS that's why I try to stay away from thermometers, opk's and all sorts. You don't have to wait for AF if you don't want to.

I am not really waiting for AF. It is more so I have an idea where about in my cycle I am so I now when is best to DDT. I'd like to say we will just for for it all month but realistically with a toddler, work and everything else it just doesn't work that way anymore! Say that we did DDT on Tuesday and I have some signs of ovulation on the Wednesday (though I am fairly rubbish at judging these things so I might be wrong) so who knows.

How old is your DC? My DD is 2.5. I was hoping DC2 would come along before I hit 40 but We have missed that boat now. I am not bothered by being 40 (just a number really) more concerned about the stats on pregnancy after 40 and I wanted to do something special for my birthday Grin

DS is nearly 16 mo.Does it matter if you hit 40?I wanted to have a child before 35-had the mc at 33 then some health problems and when I gave birth to DS I was nearly 36.I got there eventually and it doesn't matter that I didn't manage to squeeze within self set time scale.
Sorry for not replying straight away-away nearly all day and DS keeps me busy most of the time.
Will see how it goes :)

40 doesn't really matter I guess. I have read some stuff about the risk of placental breakdown rising sharply after 40 and a friend recently had an awful experience which involved placental breakdown. I had MC before DD. It took over 8 months to get a BFP. I was pleasantly surprised when it took 2 months to get this BFP. I was quite pleased when I would have been due in April (birthday in July). This started to go wrong really early this time - BFP on Saturday, bleeding started Thursday though it took several weeks for MC to be confirmed. I started to think we should just be grateful for what we have (unhelped by DDs increasing tantrums and reaching the end of my tether) and the 40 thing was part of my justification to myself. I have come to the conclusion that what will be will be. So fingers crossed for us both x
