Not pregnant alas, but cramping continues, is this usual?

So, I thought I was pregnant for about a week, had all the symptoms I'd had with DS but hadn't POAS yet as wasn't due on until tomorrow, but starting bleeding Sunday, just a bit of pinky-brown at first, but then it turned into what I assumed to be a slightly early period during the course of the day. Things is, the terrible cramps I'd been having before arrival of AF which I thought might be implantation related, haven't got that much better - I'm still a bit nauseous, off my food, incredibly lethargic, and crampy up to my mid-abdomen - my usual periods are a breeze, and I'm still bleeding fairly heavily like I usually only do on day 1...

I did a test last night just to be sure, so I know I'm not pregnant, so I'm wondering if this is just to be expected if my body is clearing out a failed implantation? Anyone else had this?

Not had it, so feel free to take this with a pinch of salt! I think it's normal to occasionally have a heavy/painful period anyway, but it does sound as though you might have had a chemical pg (failed implantation).

I think it might well be the case. I had lots of unusually painful cramping last cycle, first around the time I ovulated, then about a week later when I think an egg might have tried to implant, and then when AF arrived a week after that, so I think it must have been a case of an egg failing to implant properly.

Yes, I think you're right guys - good luck with it Metalhead if you're going for it again next cycle. Was going to wait a month now, but from memory I think I had something similar tho much less dramatic than this the month before the cycle I then fell pg with DS, so maybe I should get back on the horse straight away, as it were...
