TTC #1 and lost the plot

Hi all. I have been TTC #1 with DH for 2 months (yes! not that long!) and I feel like I have lost my mind! All I think about is babies and what stage I am at in my cycle. Has this happened to anyone else? We were really excited to start but I did not anticipate it taking over my life so much and we haven't even got pregnant yet.

When people talk about stuff in the future I am thinking, "well, if I get pregnant this month that would mean...etc". I am driving myself mad and trying not to do the same to DH and mostly managing to keep the madness to myself Grin.

So, come and make me feel better. Anyone else going equally mad?

Thanks onelifeonechance. I can't quite believe we have been so lucky.

In terms of symptoms, my boobs were (are) quite sore, I had a random moment of getting very emotional and crying over nothing (my husband chose the wrong restaurant! How dare he!) which is really unlike me. I also had some waves of feeling very suddenly sick but that has gone all together now - not sure I will be lucky enough for it to go away for good though as I am only 5/6 weeks.

I did have some cramping pains a few days before my period should have been due so I was pretty sure that was AF on its way. I did two tests before AF was due (the early response ones) and got BFNs and was really upset. I've done 3 more now that I got my BFP Grin

I have my fingers crossed for you. When are you planning to test?

Hi Diamonds, that's great! Do you mind me asking how many dpo you were when you got bfp and how many when you first started testing? Thanks.

onelifeonechance · 23/08/2013 11:30

Thanks Smile

Well if i can hold out I'm planning to test on 2nd Sept when AF would be officially late. She arrived bright&early last month so i didn't get to poas but in some ways think that was good with what you said about getting BFNs beforehand - not sure i'd be very good at handling that and think knowing how i am i'm better off waiting and knowing for definite either by the arrival of AF or a BFP at the time it should show for sure. That's the plan anyway..asked me again next week when i've caved early Wink

So so pleased for you, wishing you lots of luck with it all. When will you get in touch with the midwife??

And crying at the wrong restaurant choice is totally called for..food is very important!!! Cake

Hi VJONES, I was about 16 dpo when I got my BFP. When I tested before and got bfn it was about 11/12 dpo. I really wished I hadn't tested early now as I got upset for no reason.

I think if you can wait onelife it is much better (I had no self control!). I have got a doctors appointment for a week today. DH and I haven't told anyone in RL yet so when the receptionist on the phone said congratulations it was quite exciting!

Eeee i'm sure, saying it out loud to others must be so exciting and kind of confirms things and makes it seem more real - Diamonds you have an actual appointment at an actual doctors because you are actually pregnant!!!! Grin

And i'm going to try my hardest to listen to your wise advice, will just sit on my hands for the next week Smile
