Paully06 · 06/11/2013 21:18

Hey ladies, thought I'd join the chat if that's ok :)
I've been TTC since last September, with a break from feb - may due to my hubby needing surgery! I have a stressful job, and I really am a worrier! I have regular periods, have positives on ovulation kits, had progesterone levels checked and they we're 31 on cd 20, my hubby had semen analysis done and he is normal....just can't help worrying that's it's taking so long. 10 close family and friends are all pregnant and as delighted as I am for them it knocks a little bit off me each time I hear their lovely news. I am having reflexology (starting next week) to see if that helps with the stresses! Any other advice or chit chat would be fab. Don't feel like I have many people to talk to about it! I have never charted temp....why and how does this help?

Hugs to you all xx

woodwaj · 06/11/2013 21:39

Hi Paully welcome!

10 Friends!! Wow that's a lot of people to be happy jealous for! I received a pic today of my friends baby sleeping in the seeping bag I bought for him, it was lovely but sods law I got it today!!

Have the docs suggested anything else or have they just sent you away to keep trying?? you started TTC the same time as me, no break for us though.

Temping confirms that you have defo ovulated, however you really need to do it a few months to get the benefit I think. I don't bother, I don't get up at the same time every day and I don't want to either! I lasted 5 days when I tried!! ive been considering using conceive plus, or something along those lines, anyone used any?

Paully06 · 06/11/2013 22:00

Hey Woodwaj :)

Good to know people are in the same boat! There is something comforting about it! Hmmm don't think I'll chart my temp then, sounds like a hassle! Im just about to order some Pre seed...not tried it yet. I've used 'soft cups' in the past, but haven't done the last few months. Currently revamping my diet, eating tons on fresh veg and protein and trying to excerrcise a few times a week!

What's conceive plus?? X

woodwaj · 07/11/2013 07:48

I think preseed and conceive plus are the same thing. Im going for the same tactic this must be the thought process for women in month 15 haha

broodysnoopstie · 07/11/2013 10:28

Hello ladies Gosh I'v missed loads!
wood sorry AF got you but here is to Christmas BFPs! Have read through all the posts I missed and Phew glad cheesecake will still be on the menu!

jenny fingers crossed for Sunday any more symptoms?

vicky how are you feeling anything new?

Hi Pauly welcome to the group!

I'm still poas every morning waiting for a Smile my app thinks I should ovulate on Sunday but we will see. Unfortunately if I don't ov until next week I'll be away with work so I'm really hoping for this weekend otherwise we'll miss our window this month.

one does that mean next weekend is end of your 2ww?

Blithereens · 07/11/2013 11:22

Hi ladies

I'm new to the site. 32, married, had a pregnancy 'scare' last month and was surprise how disappointed I was to get a negative!

So now we're planning to start TTC in the new year. Can't start just yet as I currently have a copper coil in (planning to get it removed in December) and am in the process of reducing/coming off Citalopram. In the meantime I've started on pre-natal vitamins, I'm reading as much as I can, and have started charting my cycles.

I don't seem to have very much in the way of CM - is monitoring my temp and my cycle (I am fairly regular) likely to be enough, or should I look into OPK? I am also going to get some Preseed for when we start trying.

sebsmummy1 · 07/11/2013 12:09

Hey girls. Thought I'd join you as I had to un-join the breast feeding TTC girls as I am no longer breast feeding (fully weaned my very nearly 12 month old two days ago).

We have been TTC since July, was on the pill for three months before that as my periods came back three months after my son was born, even though I was ebfing and co sleeping. So I really think it's only been my last cycle that has actually been a good one. I am using clear blue opks and having had a short LP previously my last cycle saw me ovulate on day 16 and my LP was 12 days, 28 day cycle. So all good but no BFP lol

I think we have to be patient for our cycles to regulate after birth/control, pregnancies. I conceived without trying with my son, so assumed the same would happen move I decided to try again. Nope lol

I am on cd 5 today and just have a tiny but of occasional spotting now. I plan on DTD every other day until I get into my fertile window then I will be DTD every day until O is definitely over. I find the 2ww so so difficult and absolutely overthink every symptom and poas at every opportunity. Every month I think I won't test early, but I do!!! Least I have a better idea of my LP now so I will know if AF is late.

My mum consulted a psychic a few months ago who predicted another son in the future, probably an Aries which I think would see me conceiving in June. I decided to test this woman by contacting her anonymously and asking if she could see a child in my future. She said she could see a son conceived next year between March and July. Well she is consistent, now only time is going to tell as to whether she proves to be correct lol. Did cheer me up though as I shall be 39 in February and am aware time isn't on my side.

Vickyvix · 07/11/2013 17:26

Welcome ladies!! Lovely to see some more people joining the thread.

That psychic stuff sounds a bit strange, two different predictions that mean the same thing, I'm always sceptical about that stuff but I guess time will tell, maybe she's right??

blithereens if tou're just starting out maybe try charting etc first and the introduce OPKs if that doesn't work. I never tired temping, sounds complicated to me and you have to do same time every day.

Pauly 10 friends is crazy. I remember being like that when I wanted to be engaged, it seemed like everyone I knew was getting engaged/ married except me. It happened eventually though :) hopefully you will get your BFP soon and be able to join all of your friends in pregnancy/ new baby stuff.

Not much new here, although I had my first real bad case of extreme nausea, almost threw up on the tube this morning, spent the whole journey imagining what I would do if I was actually sick, no plastic bags on me so went through scenarios ofeaning out the window at the end of the carriage or even using my handbag!! Thankfully didn't have to! Otherwise, just so unbelievably tired

Blithereens · 07/11/2013 19:20

Thanks Vicky, I will leave the OPKs then unless charting doesn't work for me. I do wake at the same time every day and plug my temp into an app on my phone, but I can see how it would be fiddly if you woke at different times.

Paully06 · 07/11/2013 20:49

Hey ladies, hope all ok! Sebsmummy - I'm going to do that to, DTD every other night until ovulation window, then daily until ovulation well and truly passed! Fingers and toes crossed this month is our month :)

Paully06 · 07/11/2013 21:04

Hmmm thinking of buying the clearblue fertility monitor....anyone using it? I've previously used clearblue digital ovulation stick but I'm out of sticks and it looks like I have to buy the whole thing again rather than just stick refills! Any advice? Thoughts? :)

woodwaj · 08/11/2013 08:43

Hi pauly, onelife has one and she likes it im sure she will be able to give you more info on them

Sebsmum, hopefully as you already have a dc it won't take too long for you, also not really into the whole psychic thing but I hope its right for you!

Blither, I dont know much about the coil. Can you temp while you have it? Defo the best option first though as opks can work out expensive!

waiting on news of your smiley faces soon broody good luck!

Are you going to start carrying bags in your handbag vicky just incase? I can imagine thats funny. I read somewhere that if you feel sick run cold water on the back of your hands and it eases off, not sure if it will work though!!

When is test day onelife?

Hope I didn't miss anyone its been a busy thread!!!

broodysnoopstie · 08/11/2013 11:15

hello and welcome to the newbies Blithereens and sebsmummy!

poor you vicky I have seen a woman be sick in the bin on the train before and another in her handbag Envy ! so maybe sick bags might be good?!

Thanks Wood still no Smile yet not even a flashy! CD15 for me!

broodysnoopstie · 09/11/2013 12:46

Sad still an empty circle for me on CD16 according to my app tomorrow is O day but not even a flashy in sight!

woodwaj · 09/11/2013 16:36

oh no!! hopefully it will go straight to fixed. keep DTD just incase

I saw another post on here about cheap first response tests on amazon at the moment. I almost bought them, but then felt like I was tempting fate, but if anyone else wants to stock up here's the link:

woodwaj · 10/11/2013 08:51

Brilliant, have fun!! ;)

Hibou7688 · 10/11/2013 09:09

I'm jumping of the ttc bus! Gutted about it :(( been looking at maternity pay etc.. Because i'm a teacher and moving jobs in Jan it's going to really affect my maternity pay significantly! So i'm probably out for another 12 months. Really gutted as i'd gotten so excited!

woodwaj · 10/11/2013 09:28

Oh no, is there anything you can do in between? Increase your savings or look into a shorter maternity time? Although im sure you have thought about this. Maybe keep up with your vitamins etc ready for later

Hibou7688 · 10/11/2013 10:41

The amount i'd get would be about £40 short of the mortgage alone so no chance of being able to save enough I don't think! Seems logical to wait it out. Just wish i hadn't got my heart set on ttc now :((

woodwaj · 10/11/2013 18:19

That's rubbish. I suppose it gives you plenty of time to save from now. We ended up using our savings to move house as fee's are so expensive these days. Slowly building it back up though! At this rate I cant see me ever being off on maternity!!
