Thinking of ttc #2...any thoughts on age gaps? Lo is already 4....

Hi, I'm new here, and perhaps am loitering a tad prematurely as I'm only thinking of ttc...but fairly soon, maybe I will be ttc, and I'm kinda hoping loitering will make me want to ttc a bit sooner...

Anyway, one of the biggest worries at the mo is the whole age gap question. DS is already 4, so I can't have a short age gap anymore! But, is 5 years a sensible age gap? At this stage should I be thinking 'get on with it quick' or 'better to leave it even longer' or 'too late, stick with an only child'?!?

Well there's 6 years between me and my sister and that worked out ok-ish! Older children are usually good at dealing with a new sibling, can be desperate to help etc.

The only thing that would hurry me to try for another would be my own age, not my first child's.

My advice would be to forget about the age gap, there doesn't seem to be a perfect one anyway, and just go for it!

I don't know what to advise, my DD is 18 and I'm just TTC No 2! Personally I don't think 4 years is that big an age gap?

Thanks ladies. I think I just like to worry sometimes, lol. You're right of course, no perfect age gap!

My DD is 3.5 and we've been ttc for 15 months with no joy. Any age gap would suit me!
