How many days did it take your pregnancy tests to go from barely visible to a clear BFP?

As the title, really! How faint were your initial tests, and how many days of retests did it take for the line to be really obvious?

Background: missed miscarriage 3.5 weeks ago at 5 weeks pregnant. Took pregnancy test days afterwards and got a negative (although I just looked at it and threw away, didn't study it closely at all). Felt a bit nauseous on Sat and got a very very faint BFP on a cheap HPT. Digital says Pregnant 1-2, and subsequent cheap test looks marginally darker (my interpretation!). Basically trying to guess whether faint BFP is residual hormones from miscarriage or a new pregnancy, while I wait for the final blood tests that will confirm pregnancy or not.

Please can you share your experiences? Would be gratefully received!

Hi weebles

I have no experience here but I just read this and remembered that when you do a digital test, arent you supposed to add on 2 weeks to the number of weeks it says to date your pregnancy, as that will give you the date you ovulated (or there abouts)? If thats the case then its saying you would have ovulated 3-4 weeks ago, which is right about the time of your mmc.

Although saying that, 3.5 weeks sounds like a long time to still have the hormones still in your system, especially if you got a negative a few days afterwards, as this suggests that the hormones were already gone. I also dont think that its impossible for you to have ovulated again straight away, so fingers crossed for you that you are pregnant.

Thanks for the reply JR. Had my first blood test result today which came out at 16, so not looking hopeful I don't think, particularly with what you say about the digital tests being 2 weeks ahead. Will have 2nd blood test on Thursday to confirm one way or another.

Clearblue digital tests have a conception indicator, so the 1-2 weeks is from the time of conception. Pregnancy is dated from the first day of the last period so this would make it 3-4 weeks pregnant, which fits in with the dates.
The blood test should clarify things for you but the waiting is difficult, fingers crossed you get a good result!
