Stress won't delay your period, but it can (along with illness) delay ovulation, which in turn makes your period appear later than you would normally expect.

Do you know that you definitely ovulated? It is normal to not ovulate at all for occasional cycles.

I could have written your post. I'm now 4/5 days late and keep getting BFN's its driving me crazy.

I've been looking up the reason for a normally regular period being late but not pregnant and it all basically suggest going to your dr after a week or two of no af but negative tests.

Its only my first cycle so its not like I'm going to be upset if I'm not pregnant its just frustrating being late but knowing.

Sorry not much help there but thought I'd share and like I say if your worried then go to your gp. Good luck lets hope a BFP is on its way to both of us.

*but not knowing

Yes, it could. But so could being pregnant! Bear in mind, some women (me included) sometimes don't get a bfp until they are 6wks or more. You could be one of those. Unfortunately, it's a waiting game now - it's shit, but there's not much you can do. Fingers crossed for you.
