Thanks for the OPK advice! Think I'll stay with the cheapy ones for now, had faint line yesterday but I do drink loads of water. Shall cut down the liquids today and see what happens!

For the last few days I've had a low down ache. What does this mean? I've only ever had this when my period is due but its way too early for that. I only ovulated a few days ago.

Not sure. I'm constantly getting different signs, which then turn out to be nothing.
Had ov pains yesterday, which I thought should have visited me a few days ago, really,...
My boobs hurt when I touch them (I'm only 3dpo,..let's not get deluded here,...they always do this shortly after ov),...and I've got a sore throat, which pisses me right off. Just had some Lemsip, which I cannot stand the taste of, but DP thinks it'll help. It's gross,...vile, British concoction. I think I'll go and have some paracetamol later instead and drink lots and lots of camomile and fennel tea.

Oh no Thats, hope you feel better soon. You're a teacher aren't you? Do you have that affliction where you're mildly ill during the last few weeks and then waste the start of your holidays with full blown lurgy? I often do!

Thanks Little. Yeah, I tend to get ill in the holidays...I haven't actually had a sick day since I started training. It's never been bad enough to stay at home during school times.
Oh well, next holidays are long enough,...although I'll be getting married, so I'd be really annoyed if I got ill then.

Yeah I hate lemsip as well, can only stand the blueberry one. But they do all contain paracetamol, so be careful you dont take too much. For a sore throat I love camomile tea with honey and also liquorice! Not so nice but it works is gargling with salty water.

Thanks for OPK timing tips. Going to opt for morning as easier to fit it into schedule as others suggested. I just kept worrying that if surge comes in afternoon then by the following morning you might have already missed optimum time IYSWIM but think that's just me over thinking things.

thanks cristabell. yes I am using cb opk. I had the 4 day advanced one which I find pretty useful with flashing smiley before the solid one.

I have no idea what are my chances to get pregnant as we only manage one DEED per cycle ... Me and my DH always feel exhausted in the end of the day, and can't even think about doing more than twice!
I do try to pinpoint it when I OV according to OPK, it worked last time with my DS1...... got upduffed during cycle 2 with him.... Oh well....

Just wanted your expert advice! Would like to try SMEP this cycle, but I have a clear blue fertility monitor that tells me I ov late (day 18/19) and my cycle is 27/28 days long, so not sure what day to start SMEP on, any advice?! We are ttc#3......

In have a 6 weeks cycle and ov very late, about cd28. I started DTD every day on CD21 this month. Every other day leading up to it. It says on SMEP to do every other day leading up to your positive OPK and then for 3 days, miss a day then do it again. So I guess you'd DTD on CD18/19/20 and 22?

Catanddog - I'd guess in that case maybe start about 3-4 days later on day 12, as long as you're sure you consistently OV late?

Writing this whilst my 2 year old informs me she can change her own nappy and put on her own pjs without my help. Definitely feeling ready for another one!

catanddog We started on cd10, instead of cd8. My last cycle was 34 days and I didn't ov until cd22. Had prepared myself for another week of dtd, but ov this time round was on cd16. I think if you manage every other day in the run up, it should be ok. I used opks and then looked at temperature spike to see whether I had ovulated. However, DP is exhausted after work and struggles with the "every other day" option, let alone the three days in a row (we didn't manage that this time round). I have told him that I'll just bloody jump him next cycle, if this hasn't worked...alternatively, I'll start considering spermnapping and using a syringe when he's not paying attention. (Where's the crazy smiley? I need one...)

Little I also have a long cycle, last 2 have been 44 days. So I predicted ov would be around day 22 this month and dtd every day or so for about a week and a half leading up to that. Then dh went away the day after so I just have to wait and hope.

catanddog, i read on some of the forums that having less than 10 day lp can be an issue and if you are ov-ing on day 18/19 and have a 27/28 day cycle then it seems like it would be 9 or 10 days which is right on the edge. are you taking vitamin B6? i don't think i know enough about this, but perhaps some of the others do?
sunshine, i was also touched by dh's enthusiasm to dtd despite quite a bad sinus infection. i guess we both want this really badly. and trying to dtd everyday was actually his idea! i'm a bit sceptical that we'll manage it!
i have also ordered some preseed from amazon, in case we need to do some injecting. i think dh is slightly relieved to know that there is a back-up option as well.

Mummypig could it be ovulation pain? I tend to get it just after ovulation (in my case it is quite uncomfortable). Or maybe it's a fertilised egg burrowing into its new home
I've got my classic ovulation pains today (stated late late night) so my 2ww has officially arrived. Who is going to cave and POAS first?

It's not on one side though, just very low down. I haven't had the classic ovulation cm for a while though, not since I thought I was ovulating. Who knows. I will not poas any sooner than 11th July unless I start puking. I have to exercise some self control!!

I am now 7 dpo and despite telling myself I wouldn't I am symptom spotting like crazy! Anyone fancy slapping me?!

leehandy I do have a short LP, rightly or wrongly I'm not too concerned about it (yet!) but my pregnacare vitamins have B6 in them, but do you think I should take an extra supplement?!
