Anyone feel like they were going to start period and find out they were pregnant??

I normally have a period between days 32 and 38 and am currently on day 35. Since day 32 I have had increasing menstrual cramping like pains which were awful yesterday and overnight needing lots of paraceptmol. I stil have not had any bleeding yet though. Tired, nipples itchy and slightly sore and have a heavy bloated feeling (kinda period like).

Normally I have cramps and then a fews hours to a day later I get af but nothing. Anyone find out they were pregnant after this???

Yes, I had all of those symptoms, with the same sort of time scale - i.e. cramps for days when I normally get them for a few hours pre-period. Turns out I was pregnant! (but it took almost 3 weeks after that to get a BFP, I took 5 tests...)

I can't entirely compare as I fell pg in different circumstances, but I did spend an entire week thinking "oh, I'll be coming on any day, I've got cramps and I'm bloated and heavy". So while I've not symptom watched, my early pregnancy felt exactly like I was about to start my period.

Yes me! It's been only 3 weeks since I got my BFP, and that is exactly what I thought, I was really cranky, Knackered and had cramps, except it never came, so after 4 days I took a test and it was positive! X

I am dead irritable as well and just wanna go to sleep all the time just like you were Kimmy. What is throwing me is the BFN I keep getting every morning. Mind you I am using the cheap strips off amazon so maybe they arent so good. Just feel different. Amazed you all experienced this. I never knew you can get period cramping if you are pregnant.

The cramping is getting on my wick now though and I wish af would either get a move on or BFP would hurry up!!! LOL!

Can I join please!! I'm 4 days late, suffer from cramps, I'm hormonal but no period and a BFN.
I just want my periods to appear or a BFP!!!! I'm so unwell...

I had exactly that, for a week after af was due, constantly expecting it to happen and so not suspecting I was pg at all. Then poa cheapo Amazon stick and it practically all went blue.

So I was a week late by then. You might just need to give it more time.

That feeling did continue for a few weeks, IIRC.

Yep, all day I felt like ipad started my period, kept going to the bathroom and checking but nothing. At 9pm thought 'hmmm', so I POAS and hey presto!

Oh, and I still felt like I was going to start my period for the first 2 weeks of pregnancy, which worried me at the time, so don't worry if its the same for you.

Yep. I kept expecting to come on as I was due. Felt like period pains but nothing happened. Also had weird metallic taste in my mouth which was unusual hence the pregnancy test.

With my first dd, we went to the gp because I thought it was taking too long to get pregnant..in reality it was only a few months but I was impatient. He asked my Ex Dh to get up on the couch then squeezed his balls ( snigger snigger) he then asked when I last had a period. I wasn't quite sure as I wasn't regular and gave a random date.he asked me to go and give him a urine sample but I said no,that I was cramping and had all the usual pre AF symptoms and AF was definitely en route. He insisted...oh , the embarrassment ,nt to mention stink eye from ex( te he), when he announced the BFP! Talk about a shock!

Flipping eck!! Cant believe how common it is!!! I know this TMI but I am sitting watching the teely with now only mild cramping and keep checking myself expecting to see blood on finger. Boobs have suddenly gone mad now as well. They are itching, have swollen suddenly and sensitive. Feeling more and more like I might but also know I do this to myself every month.

Saying that this is the FIRST time I have ever had period cramping for this length of time with no period. Dead dry down there as well which is very unsual for this time of month. I'll keep you updated guys. If I am I will putting up the christmas tree this year very heavily pregnant!!!!

Tiger I'm so glad you said that because this is the second week ice known and I'm still cramping, still expecting something bad to happen but the midwife said it's normal. Well normal it may be but I don't like it! Ha ha!

And Lizon, I kno! My due date is the 20th dec, I'm getting a baby for Xmas, ha ha! Better not miss my Xmas dinner......

Maybe try again in a couple of days, it was cheap pound shop ones I got my BFP on, then I bought a couple of clearblue ones. X

This thread is making me feel a lot better. I'm on day 28 now, usually my cycle is 25 days, sometimes only 22. Took a test this morning and it was negative. If no sign of AF in 2 days I'm gonna get a couple of cheapo tests. Thanks ladies, felt so down all day, hings feel more in perspective now.

hi ladies. Cramping, cold sweats and very hot in the night. Not writing temp down this month (went on hols and lost track) but taking it every morn now hoping it wont drop. My temp is unusually high compared to last month is this a sign of pregnancy and will it generally drop before I get a period??

Really feel like I'm coming on today and feel quite down about it cos had kinda started getting my head around having an xmas baby. Went and told hubby last night that there is a possibility I am pregnant but I always find as soon as I tell him I end up getting my period so feel like I have tempted fate now.

Been feeling really off today. Did anyone get the hot flushes, feeling sicky and cold sweaty that you sometimes get with periods. Basically what I am asking is can pregnancy feel exactly the same??

I think by the end of the day AF is going to show her ugly face to be honest. Getting much wetter down there so kind of expecting it. Another negative preg strip this morn is making me think I am not preggo. Boo!!!!
Day 36 today. Giving it till day 39 and then visiting dr if no BFP by then.

Lizson I feel the same, hate telling my hubby as it gets both our hopes up. But I'd never do a test without him so I had to. Got AF this morning so have been an emotional nut, crying on & off :-( hope it's better news for you x

I did with this pregnancy which is my third. I actually got implantation bleeding about 6 days before my period was due, and thought it was the start of my period. I put in a pad and my period never came. I had all my normal pre menstrual symptoms, feeling bloated, teary and craving chocolate. I never even thought I might be pregnant until I took a test a week after my period was due. Tbh I never felt like this with my other two viable pregnancies. With those, I never experienced my pre-menstrual symptoms, so it can vary between pregnancies and women. Good luck.

Sorry to hear nasty AF arrived Dusty27!!! Rubbish when you get your hopes up. Yesterday I became adamant I was pregnant and then today I am beginning to think I am imagining it all again and will get my period any minute.

Do you think having strong cramps for 4 days now is a poss pregnancy considering I only normally get them a few hours before or a day before I start my period. This is the only thing that makes me wonder as it has never happened before.

Me and hubby had big barney last night prob from me being cranky and teary so worried about everything so much.. Just need to know!!!

Ok sorry for the constant updates but still very confused. My breasts are telling me waaay otherwise. My veins are now standing up, areolas look bigger and darker, bra feels much tighter today and they are hurting me on nipple area and if I run down the stairs they hurt a lot. Starting to get hopes up again. Keeping this quiet from hubby though!!! Want to be absolutely sure!!

There's no way of knowing without poas, but it does sound good if it is different from your usual pre-period symptoms. Good luck, make sure you let us know!

stonebaby, I remember needing to pee constantly in the first trimester, it was worse than the last trimester!

Hi, I feel I must join cause my body is sending me crazy..I have had very sore boobs and other small things have made me think this month might be the one, we have only been trying 4 months and it took much longer last time so I am trying not to symptom spot constantly. However period due tomorrow, I have since Sunday been feeling horrific nausea in the mornings and on some days all day. I nearly had to stop the car on the way in this morning as I felt so sick. Have been shattered since about 5DPO, which is ridiculous because I couldn't even have a symptom at that stage. Have had cramps though this evening, very low down, quite sharp pains, so am assuming this is it - although obviously getting my hopes up that it is just my body kdding me and will get a BFP. I did pee on one of my OPKs just to see as it didn't feel as serious as peeing on an OPK (I know! Crazy!) and it was a very dark line, nearly as dark as the test line yesterday.

Don't want to POAS tomorrow as I would have to do it in the morning and then be at work all day as am there till the evening, really need to wait till Sat morning when I can take it in if it is BFP and get chance to chat to DH about it....but expecting flo to arrive overnight or tomorrow...
Why can't we just have some really obvious sign that we are/are not up the duff, I hate this, turns me into a crazy lady..
