Geek good luck at the appointment. Brooking for a quick start date.

Sweetie have you done your official test yet? Smile

Kitty I also keep my CBFM in my bedside table, along with my preseed, all my vits, my zita west hypnotherapy cd and my copy of her assisted conception book. Blush I hope no one goes sneaking in there!

Rubber I might buy some parsley at the shops Grin

Went to see iron man 3d at the IMAX last night, it was better than I was expecting. It was quite funny in parts. MrCups is big comic book fan. I'm off for lunch and shopping with some friends later. Anyone got any exciting plans?

BlindKitty · 27/04/2013 08:50

keep I'll laugh if theres suddenly an influx of cbfm on ebay this weekend!

cupcakes its really not the cbfm and preseed I'm worried about people finding in my bedside drawers haha...

BeedlesPineNeedles · 27/04/2013 09:06

keep they exchanged an email or two about some computer bits, but nothing since MrG sent a load of photos of parts last weekend. I've suggested he stops mentioning about another meetup in case that is what is putting his son off at the moment. I think it needs to come from him rather than MrG still, at this stage. I really can't believe you are ever impatient! You must have some steely self-control, but I know what you mean about wanting to prolong the fantasy.

beedle thanks for the link, they're really useful questions. My first appointment with this clinic last year was a two hour session with the embryologist and she went through pretty much everything like that there, including the drugs and that she wanted to put me on short protocol because of my PCOS and risk of OHSS I think she said. Perhaps my clinic leave most of the information dissemination to the embryologists rather than the consultants?

sweetie how's the OT looking?

rubber perhaps that's where I'm going wrong then - every time I have planted herbs they've always died on me.

kitty yes, they do market it as an almost guaranteed way to get pg, don't they. Very frustrating, but I like the confidence of seeing the highs and peaks.

cup I lurve Iron Man, hadn't realised there was a new one out. Must tell MrG! Enjoy your lunch and shopping - that's what weekends were made for Grin

Thank you boo and everyone for all the lovely thoughts. Just over two hours to go, eek! Just about to flick through my IVF file (I am indeed doing ICSI beedle) to brush up on the processes. I'm with kitty - the TTC stuff is the least of my worries if people were to go through my bedside cabinet Blush

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 27/04/2013 09:57

I would be more worried about people going through your kindle account Geek Grin

ControlGeek · 27/04/2013 10:04

boo my bedside cabinet is pre-kindle, shall we say Blush

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 27/04/2013 10:18

Ooh BlushBlush is it like mine was pre children with no hearing loss ShockBlush

ControlGeek · 27/04/2013 10:27

Well, it would be an education, with plenty of reading material and a fair bit for show-and-tell Blush Grin

NoMaybeAboutIt · 27/04/2013 10:30

Morning brookers,

Geek am brooking like a crazy lady for your appointment today. Can't wait to hear how it goes. I know earlier you were asking about immune tests, my clinic doesn't offer them either. They aren't even suggested for private patients. Yet again another massive difference across clinics!

It looks like a few of us will be cycling together!

I need to catch up properly with everyone, but here's what I have remembered.

Scarlett that was great news about your scan. When do you go back?

Solars also great news about your results. You must feel so much better about it all.

Cups am brooking that they have space for you next cycle.

Beedle how are you feeling about everything? I'm on LP too, though I am jabbing not inhaling.

Kitty you asked ages ago for people's stories, so here in mine finally

Im 28 and we have been TTC for 2.5 years now. Turns out MrMaybe is a cystic fibrosis carrier and therefore had no vas deferens. So lots of tests later, we are starting ICSI next month. I, luckily, am not a CF carrier, so no chance our children will have the disease though they may carry it. MrM had surgical sperm retrieval in March and luckily we have a few swimmers in the freezer.

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 27/04/2013 11:02

Ooh, looks like some of you are lining up for another brooker whammy Grin can't wait :):)

Pmsl @ show and tell Grin would be very different to toddly boo's show and tell at play group Grin

SweetieTime · 27/04/2013 11:20

geek good luck for later

maybe lovely to see you popping in

OT this morning was positive so have to ring clinic on Monday. Been trying not to do too much but we are decluttering our house ready for selling. so been packing boxes and moving them to the storage place. dh is in charge of lugging boxes Grin

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 27/04/2013 11:24

I should think so Sweetie nothing heavier than a Brew for you :)

Yay for the OT, how are you and Mr S feeling about it now? Did you get the prescription??

keepitgoing · 27/04/2013 11:36

Where are you moving to sweetie?

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 27/04/2013 12:12

Peak district, move to the Peaks Sweetie :):)

SweetieTime · 27/04/2013 12:35

prescription arrived so just been to collect drugs. should be ok for another week now.
only moving just down the road from where we live now, we have already bought the house so need to sell our current house. we never do things by halves chez sweetie.
Think the reality is sinking in now for both of us, I am actually quite excited. we are out for tapas this evening with a colleague of mine and his wife. not sure what to do about not drinking as these evenings are usually quite boozy affairs. I am going to drive but I know they will question it.

keepitgoing · 27/04/2013 13:02

Phew on the drugs. And even if they suspect they should be polite enough to not ask and wait for you to say something.

Mmm tapas...

keepitgoing · 27/04/2013 13:03

We said to friends here we were cutting back due to issues, then have just not updated them on the situation, you could try that?

keepitgoing · 27/04/2013 13:46

Boo what are you still doing here. I've told you what you should be doing...

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 27/04/2013 14:14

Blush sorry Keep we would have if it wasn't for the hormonally charged clearly his fault argument small disagreement we had Blush he's at work now, so I have just done a full shop at tesco hoping that the walk round and carrying bags will help. Only 2 days till induction :):)

ControlGeek · 27/04/2013 14:23

I'm baaack GrinGrinGrin

I apologise in advance, this is going to be a mememe post because I just need to get this down in writing so I don't forget it all.

No physical exam, but from talking to me and hearing about my new cycle lengths the cons is happy that the op was a success. To confirm it, he wants me in for a scan asap, but only on a Thursday because that's when his NHS day is. I have to ring up first thing Monday morning to get an appointment for the first available Thursday, hopefully this Thursday but if not then the week before. It has to be before AF arrives.

Providing the scan shows that my ovaries are in the right place for egg collection, and that all is well with the world, he then wants me going straight onto short protocol starting from my next cycle!!!

He has said that the op he performed, he would expect 70% of his patients to get pg naturally shortly afterwards so MrG and I are to keep on trying despite the male factor issues.

I asked if there was anything we could do to help be in top condition and he has prescribed me metformin, which I'm a bit concerned about. MrG took it for a few weeks for his diabetes, and had awful side effects. Apparently, it will help my PCOS, help to maintain regular cycles and will improve the quality of my eggs. It means no alcohol whatsoever though that is probably a good thing in itself. He also recommended daily doses of 1g of vitamin C, and Vitamin E, for MrG to improve his sperm. I now feel vindicated over my nutty thorough internet research, as I have had him on this for about 6 months now in addition to the Wellman Conception.

So, ladies, this is it! Please brook for an early scan appointment so that I can join the ranks of assisted brookers on my next cycle Grin

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 27/04/2013 14:29

Brooking brooking brooking!!!! Geek that all sounds amazingly positive :) next cycle eh :):) I am so excited for you.

Now for the metformin, really Bartlet is the brooker you need, but I have been taking it for the last 12 week's for the gd. It was expected to react badly on me and aggravate my Crohns, but I have been absolutely fine, everyone has been pleasantly surprised.

ControlGeek · 27/04/2013 14:53

Thank you boo those are the kind of stories I need to hear :) First one will be with tea tonight so will see how I get on.

keepitgoing · 27/04/2013 14:55

Ooh geek!!! Fab news! Was it just 15 mins in the end? What cd are you on, have you ov'd yet?

Beedle, cups, geek, maybe - so much going on!

:)
