That's weird about the son, geek, but hopefully he's just been busy. Has the maternity spreadsheet taken account of this year's cold weather and higher heating bills? Does it differentiate potential different costs for a summer vs winter baby? :)

sweetie glad you're ok. I had various cramps and things. They can be nothing but a good sign. Are you on progesterone?

Telling parents was fab. My parents know of our issues, so were v delighted for us, mum of course cried. They didn't know when we were having ivf, though knew it was on the cards. Mil was for once speechless. She doesn't know any of our story, though dh hinted of a long journey today. It'll be her first grandchild so she is v excited, we had to tell her not to say/do anything yet as its early. 'I've been waiting for this for years' she said. Well, ditto...
My sister, with crazy preggo hormones, will go crazy, I predict...

Solars · 16/04/2013 16:49

Cups I just read this and thought of you!! A different way of handing in your notice.....

SweetieTime · 16/04/2013 18:17

Aw keep what a lovely reaction. I am so chuffed for you. Cannot wait to hear how your sis takes the news, I would expect tears with all those preggo hormones.

Yes the joys of the twice daily progesterone. I am covered in hormonal volcano spots along my jawbone. I have been eating prunes in addition to my normal all bran to keep things moving Blush Blush but no other side effects

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 16/04/2013 21:41

Solars brooking for good immune results. Fingers crossed we all get to start next month.

Sweetie I'm dreading the progesterone suppositories, I'm a spotty mess at the best of times Smile

Geek I'm sorry to hear that MrG hasn't had much response from his DC. I still think its great that he reached out to them. I'm saying that as someone who has no contact with my father.

Keep that sounds so nice, it's one of the crazy things I dream about being able to tell family and friends.

Hope Maybe, Scarlett and Cartoon are doing ok.

No chance of gardening leave, but I should be entitled to a weeks holiday so will hopefully only have another 3 weeks to work. I think I will be pretty emotional as its the longest I've ever worked somewhere & I've got a lot of friends there. That cake is awesome Solars but I don't think my boss would appreciate it Grin

keepitgoing · 17/04/2013 03:16

sweetie I have only 10 days left of progesterone! Can't wait not to be all gunked up. I have been a massive farty-pants for weeks...

keep I'm so glad telling your parents went well! I think it's obligatory for mums to cry. Looking forward to hearing how preggo hormone-crazy sis takes it. I bet she'll be thrilled that there will be a cousin so close in age to her own to play with not to mention mutual baby sitting

solars I saw that too, what a fab way to hand your notice in (providing you like the place you are leaving, of course).

sweetie how long do you have to take the progesterone for? It sounds... messy Hmm

cup yay to having a week's leave owing you. That will give you a nice break between leaving your old job and starting your new one. How long have you worked there for?

BeedlesPineNeedles · 17/04/2013 10:15

Our appointment went well, I start downregging at teh end of the month. I have to do 3 weeks of it but the alternative was waiting until August Shock So we'll have egg collection at the beginning of June. I've only learnt about the nasal spray so far, I'll learn how to do scary injections in May. i'm feeling quite excited about everything.

Oh and by the way sweetie we spoke with the dr briefly about identical twins from 1 egg and she said she had had 1 case of triplets from 1 egg Shock :o :o

OP posts:
ControlGeek · 17/04/2013 10:20

beedle yay!!!! That is brilliant news. So quick! How's MrB feeling?

sweetie a shot at sextuplets eh? Bet that'll make you wince a bit...

keepitgoing · 17/04/2013 10:29

Aaaaah beedle I'm so excited for you!!! How's mrbeedle? BTW have they told you no swi this month? Some clinics do, some don't and a lady on our egg buddies thread got her bfp in the month she started downregging and all is fine...

BeedlesPineNeedles · 17/04/2013 10:33

geek he's OK, I think he's a little shocked at everything but glad that we can try before the summer, when we met the dr she wasn't sure if they'd be able to fit us in before they close for the summer. We didn't have much chance to talk afterwards as we had to get on different trams to get to work but he seems OK. Not quite as excited as me :o

I'm ignoring comments about becoming a farty pants, MrB already thinks I am one Blush

OP posts:
BeedlesPineNeedles · 17/04/2013 10:35

Xpost keep no we're OK to try this month -we talked about how my preiod ahould come within 2 weeks of starting the downregging and if not to call them. I said I would be thinking I ws pregnant if it was that late. They did say that had happened before and it was no danger to teh baby. which I'm rather glad about as we have a weekend away in a posh hotel this weekend (prime shagging time :o )

keepitgoing · 17/04/2013 10:38

Great stuff. Gosh its just brilliant you can start so soon!

BeedlesPineNeedles · 17/04/2013 12:05

Oh and I was dildo-cammed again today, and rather disappointingly there was no baby hiding inside me. It appears all those peesticks over the last few months weren't lying.

Strangely enough having a woman dr using the dildo-cam didn't make me want to giggle at the inappropriateness of all, like it did the first time when I had a youngish bloke standing between my legs :o

Beedle brilliant news, so pleased you get to start so soon :) good luck!

Geek I second the suggestion further meetings with Mr G's DCs, it couldnt hurt.

Booby is firmly staying put despite some vigorous bouncing on my ball and daily walks still trying to avoid doing the sex, but I might have to Grin 12 days to induction!

RubberBullets · 17/04/2013 13:35

Boo you have to play hide the sausage. It's Brookers Law that I just made up

Geek fingers crossed that Mr G gets some more contact and that they simply just need a little time to get used to the whole idea. Also can you please stop using faulty pee sticks, we want to hear BFP, not BFN

Beedle sounds like your BFP is nice and close now

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 17/04/2013 13:56

Yes Rubber Mr B keeps saying the same Hmm

Solars · 17/04/2013 16:44

Beedle that is fantastic news that you can start straight away, I'm so excited for you!

Keep how did it go with telling the siblings today? I can't wait to be giving good news like that to my family and friends I often dream about it too

Geek I too wouldn't think too much into lack of contact with MrG's kids at the moment, I like Sparkes advice, that's what I would do too. And still too early with the pee sticks!

Brooking Booby is here real soon Boo

And wow to 31 weeks Sparkes

MrS has his repeat JIAJ action tmrw let's hope he gets it right this time I have been coaching lecturing him on the do's and don't's! He almost made me cry the other day when he admitted to me that when I told him I was having a really light and strange AF he got really excited that this was it finally. I sometimes forget he wants that BFP as much as I do :(

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 17/04/2013 17:27

Wow Beedle fantastic news that its happening so soon Grin

Sparks I can't believe your 31 weeks Shock and I'm so excited for Booby! Hurry up!

Solars good luck to MrS for tomorrow. Well done on giving instructions so there should be no chance of soapgate2 Smile

Geek yet again I'm in awe of your ControlGeek ways! I am in no way financially ready for mat leave despite 3 years of ttc Grin

I've only been in my job for 3 & a half years. I push myself to move a lot as its great experience. I normally only stay for a year to 18 months. You always know someone in a new place as the nhs is like one big unhappy family.

Sorry if I've missed anything, I'm on a tram for the first time in years. I'm meeting DH after work for a film and dinner.

ControlGeek · 17/04/2013 18:21

beedle glad MrB is getting his head around it all. Hopefully, now that the process has been started, he'll not find it so hard and won't have too many opportunities to put things off Glad to hear you're still able to squeeze in your ironic BFP before IVF though!

sparks 31 weeks?? Where on earth has that time gone? Thank you for your kind words and advice (and to everyone else, too) about MrG's children.

MrG emails them both every fortnight even if there is no reply, but we're too nervous to suggest another meet with the son just yet. An open offer was made to him in the first email MrG sent after the meet, so we were just going to leave it at that rather than seem to be putting pressure on. Before the meet-up, MrG and son were emailing on a daily basis, sometimes two or three times a day. I'm thinking of suggesting MrG send him a quick note tonight just asking if everything is ok. What do you all think?

c'mon boo, hide that sausage bounce that ball! We're all dying to see your booby Grin

Rubber I will do my best Grin Perhaps I should do another test tomorrow morning, just to get the faulty batch used up, y'know!

solars the very best of luck for MrS's JIA re-run tomorrow. Well done on the anti-soapgate coaching. Brooking that you get an excellent result back and that that was just a one-off. I think it's ever so lovely that he's as keen for the BFP as you. Sometimes I get scared MrG is only still plugging away because I want this so badly.

cup hahaha I love that my spreadsheet has people in awe of it, I had no idea I was doing anything unusual or out of the ordinary when I created it. It's such a 'me' thing to do. 3.5 years is a fair old time - I bet there's always something new to learn with the NHS, too.

Right, I'm off to give my faulty pee sticks a pep-talk for tomorrow morning!

ControlGeek · 17/04/2013 20:05

Of all the weird coincidences, MrG just popped on to send an 'are you ok' email to his son, only to find a long email from him waiting for him in his in-box, sent just after 6pm tonight. Spooky! and hugely relieved

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 17/04/2013 20:25

Oh Geek that is fantastic!! So pleased for Mr G :)

geek that's weird but brilliant about the email!

Good luck to mrsolars today. I'm glad he's wanting it as much as you but know what you mean it's hard to see. The other day when I had a spot of blood mrk had a tear in his eye and I could tell he was really scared. I don't know why I was surprised, we're prob just more vocal, I guess.

You guys are sweet to ask my 'telling' stories. I dreamt about it all every month too. We've kept it simple - just blurted it out really. I don't need gimmicks or anything. We're doing it over Skype. It's hard with the time difference and people at work and me going to bed so early so we still have my and dh brothers. Told my sister who went hypersonic and squealed, and cried... She asked my 2yo niece if it's a girl or boy, it's a boy, apparently :) she has a 100% success rate so far - she guessed my sister's correctly. So there you go!
