Speak to me about implantation. Anyone get clots?

Ok. AF due tuesday. Been feeling iffy all week. On friday I felt really crampy and passed a clot about the size and shape of a liquorice torpedo. Cramps stopped, no other blood particularly. Still feeling off colour, so have just POAS. BFP

Congratulations Cat! Grin Is this your first? How long have been trying? Have you told DP yet? Reaction? Smile

I think I may have had implantation beeding yesterday and mine was bright red blood. I've been doing a bit of research and it seems to vary from person to person - anything between 1 and 5 days in duration and anything between a single spot of blood and people thinking it's full on AF.

Sorry for the TMI here, but mine was as I said bright red to start with and then over about 5 hours became more mucusey (if such a word exists!) Then it just stopped. I had some cramps particularly lower down and lower back, but not the same as AF at all - they were really mild in comparison to AF. I didn't have any clots, but it was proper blood (but not like AF)

Sounds to me like you are very much upduffed. Well done!

God no. Im 37 with a 16yo and a 13yo. We are NOT trying. I am taking Cerazette. Im keeping quiet for the time being. DP will NOT be happy. In light of the random clot I dont want to start a riot ove noting IYSWIM.

Oh dear Cat - sorry to hear that it may not be what you want. Did you have it with your first children can you remember? The thing is, if you've got a BFP then you've got a BFP and there's no getting away from that fact really. Just had to google Cerazette; I guess not all contraception is 100% effective.

Maybe you should talk to DP? Even if you think he won't be happy, you never know. How do you feel about it? Maybe you should wait a bit before talking to him and do another test when AF is due?

Id love another. DP wouldnt. Im just a little confused. AF isnt due till tuesday, but result was very strong. Clot is really worrying though. Havent had any other blood/pinkness and I still feel dreadful, so cross my fingers I suppose. GP tomorrow.

Obviously I'm not a doctor, but I don't think the clot is anything to worry about. I think women often have spotting in the first few weeks of pg and it could be implantation - it seems around the right time. I think going to see your GP is the best thing. Like I said though, from what I've read people have been saying they have had one drop and/or clotting as implantation. I'll try to find the link for you.

As for DP, I'm sure if you are pg he'll come round.

Try not to worry (easier said than done, I know).
