Hi, I've decided to start this group as my DH and I have started TTC 2 months ago. It's our first time so it's all very new! I've learned loads by looking on this forum, but have also found myself getting a little spooked by some of the groups where people have been trying a long time! I'm not in a situation to know my exact ovulation date, at the moment I don't event have reliable periods!

So I thought it would be good to have a group for people like me - excited, nervous, impatient and learning as I go along!

Hiya,
What a good idea, we plan to start TTC next month. Had one AF since having implanon removed so like yourself not sure if they'll be regular yet. Find myself getting all the things you mentioned above, but think impatience is my biggest problem! X

Girraferama · 04/01/2013 11:28

Hi nesswalk - welcome!

You've done well to stick to the rules and hold off TTC straight away! I did that too but I had an incentive - I had my honeymoon coming up and was determined not to be pregnant for that!

I was doing fine with the impatience thing until I missed AF in Dec and convinced myself I was pregnant but kept getting BFN! I've been to the doctor who has reassured me that it is just irregular whilst my body adjusts... So now I'm determined to regain my "it wil happen when it happens" composure!!

It is really exciting though, as well as a steep learning curve!

Not really, I've had to wait as have recently stopped other medication and was told it would take about two months to get out my system. Plus I had both my hips replaced last year so they needed time to heal. But come feb it'll be full steam ahead. Hubby won't know what's hit him. Hehe.

I know I'll be a nightmare to live with when we start TTC, I'll prob symptom spot constantly. X

badguider · 04/01/2013 19:46

Hi there,
I'm already 5 days overdue (and have never been more than 2) but as it's our first month of actually managing to have sex on optimum ovulation day i'm not sure i believe it - and for some reason i just can't bring myself to test... i don't know why... i sort of feel that i'd rather not know, wish i didn't already know i was overdue...
i'm 36 and dh is 41 so i had braced myself for it to take ages... if at all...
i know i should probably just test to know for sure but i don't think i can. am i mad???

setayharas · 04/01/2013 20:23

Hey I'll join if u don't mind. this is month 3 of ttc after oh wanted to wait to make sure I'd be ok to go on our holiday.

Driving myself made with worrying constantly iv missed ovulation and wasted a month and not dtd enough. This is all so much more complicated than any sex education class tried to convince us it was,

To make matters harder best mate got bfp last month after coming off te pill after 7years that month. As over the moon for her as I am I can't help the green monster taking over.

I'm 25 and oh 26 So fingers crossed this is our month.

Ps: Badguider dunno how u have waited this long to poas, wouldn't you rather know?

badguider · 04/01/2013 20:28

if it's +ve i would rather know but if it's going to be -ve then i don't know.. if it is -ve and i still don't have a period then that would be another thing to worry about so i think i'll wait a bit more...

Girraferama · 04/01/2013 22:32

Hi all thanks for joining!

badguider I'd recommend you do a first-response type test... That way it should be a pretty safe bet one way or another... I spent a week convincing myself it was just too soon to detect and re-testing! Completely know where u are coming from tho! My doc has said it's nothing to worry about in 1st 6 months off pull if ur periods are a little irregular so don't panic.

seteyharas it is so frustrating when everyone else is getting pregnant easily but try not to stress, our time will come - try and enjoy the trying!!

Here's a little anecdote for you... My doc told me he saw a couple who were concerned they hadn't conceived.. Only to find they'd not had sex for 2 months!!! Haha!

Hi ladies. I took my last pill on 28th July 12 just before my wedding. Been TTC for 5 months now. AF still seems to appear when she feels like it so finding it hard to chart my cycles etc. Currently 9 days late but know I'm not preg as just getting BFNs :-( Think the Xmas boozing has not helped. I've ordered some Angus castus from Holland and Barrett to hopefully regulate my cycles.
Fingers crossed and best wishes to you all.

Girraferama · 09/01/2013 19:42

Hey badguider any news?

How's everyone else getting on?

Hi ladies.

Mind if I join in? TTC number 2. Had the implant removed in August 2012, fell pregnant September 2012 and unfortunately I MC identical twins in December 2012. So I am back waiting for my AF to come and then it will all start again. Here's to fingers cross for us all xSmile

Girraferama · 10/01/2013 19:33

Hi charmaine welcome!! So sorry to hear of your mc, how tragic. Good for you to 'getting back on the horse' so to speak!!

Can I join too? This is our first month TTC #1. Im on CD11 of a 29-31 day cycle. It's not going very well so far as DH is stressed at work and falls into bed at 12am before passing out! I'm hoping to pin him down this weekend! I don't want TTC to become a mechanical operation so I'm trying to keep the gory TCC/cycle details from DH. Not telling friends about this - hoping to use this forum for support. Would be very shocked if we got a BFP first time round!

Elektra83 · 10/01/2013 21:44

hi everyone, I have no idea about cycles, but came off of the pill in December, tried to wait for my first real AF to arrive but we have been "naughty" and dtd for a while now.

ERTD is due next week sometime (my withdrawal bleed was on the 20th, so I reckon around the 20th of this month) and am symptom spotting already.

Whoever said this was much more complicated than sex ed classes made out...you were right!

Lauraaxirv · 11/01/2013 01:45

Hey guys I'm joining :) I came off of my pill in October and sill no luck although my af has been crazy!! Just to let you all know I completely skipped a period in November and got around 3 + pregnancy tests. My doctor even thought I was pregnant! Anyway I had a blood test and it was -. I had a 3 week bleed in December :( I'm so confused by all of this I just want to know what I can do to speed things along- I've read so many wives tales that are obviously not true ahhhh help!!

Girraferama · 11/01/2013 13:19

Hey laura it is so frustrating isn't it? Unfortunately they do say it can take 6 months off the pill to settle, but its the not knowing that's the worst!

I have some news... After 52 days since my last AF and a million tests later I ve got a BFP! So hang in there.. It can sometimes take you by surprise!

girra that's fab news, you must be so excited.

Well after deciding to wait until feb to TTC we caved and started this week. Here's hoping we won't be far behind you Girra.

charmaine10222 · 11/01/2013 14:31

Wow. Congrats Girra Grin great news

GoldenHandshake · 11/01/2013 14:33

Hi all, I hope you don't mind me joining, I am technically not TTC#2 yet, having my mirena taken out in March but am so excited.

Has anyone else had a mirena removed? This is my first time, it's been in a year nowhaving it put in was awful and I found it very painful, I fainted afterward and went into 'cervical shock' followed by 24 hours of severe cramps, so am feeling very nervous!

Tropicool · 11/01/2013 16:02

girrafe that's amazing! So quick! Well done!
