Don't know if any of you can relate (I'm sure lots of you can) but was just so sure that this month I was getting a bfp.....no period (7 days late) but 3 bfns. Just very frustrating.

Aww congrats that's lovely news! No Drinkie's for you tonight!

I did one too but knew what the answer would be. So lots of cocktails for me instead.

Ahh congrats - that's fantastic! I went to docs and she got me to do another test (BFN) and said that's it - definitely not pregnant and didn't do a bloodtest to double check. Bit gutted if I'm honest but guess I needed someone to put a lid on it and stop me wondering, so now I'm looking ahead to next month... Maybe it'll be our turn next :-)

Girraferama, did your doctor say what could be causing you to be late?

Good luck for next month - and me too! Smile

No, she suddenly started going on about my periods when I was 16-18 (before the pill) and how I'll need to go back in April to have blood tests for complications in if not conceived - she's completely freaked me out as I wasn't thinking there was anything wrong really, we've only been trying a couple of months. Now I'm really worried that she thinks there may be problems down the line. My DH thinks we should go back and see someone else and ask for clarity on whether we should be worried. I'm not sure though, feel a bit silly for to asking more at the time but was only thinking I was going in to find out whether I might be pregnant!

Oh bloody hell! Talk about pressure and stressful times! Try to not worry about it, I know its hard cos I know I would be but there isn't anything you can do so worrying isn't going to help. April is a long way away yet, anything can happen between now and then. I would suggest if you do go back in April to see someone else though. If you have only just started trying then I don't understand why she'd be saying there could be a problem if you haven't fallen yet! If that were the case the doctors waiting room would be full of us! Try not to panick too much.

Thanks bundle - it was the last thing I needed! Like you say, there is little point in worrying! Has your AF arrived yet? Or is the game still on?!

OMG! Congratulations Mrs!!! So happy for you (and extremely jealous!) Smile Do you know how far gone you are?

Hopefully we'll be joining the BFP club soon! Smile Wishful thinking never hurts!

Girraferama, nope! Still no sign of AF and no symptons of it showing either! Totally confused. I know its all probably because of coming off the pill etc but I can't help but think that maybe, just maybe, I could be pg... Even after two BFN! Crazy, huh!

I'm glad you agree. As I said before, April is a loooong way away yet anyway.

That's it! Curiosity has got the better of me again due to no AF! I've gone out and got one of them evil tests, the ones that say 'pregnant' or 'not pregnant'. Maybe seeing the words in my face of 'not pregnant' will make me finally realise its not going to happen this month! I've even sneaked out of work to get the test and am going to do it in the ladies loo - nice, huh!

I'll be back in 3 minutes to report!

Starting to think this was a bad idea already!

Good Luck! At least if its a BFN we're in it together..

I'm too scared to do it now, lol! Plus I don't think I need a wee yet! xx

Haha, I give it an hour... Now you've thought about it! How many days late do you think you are? Do you have any symptoms?

Report
bundle4me · 03/01/2013 13:15

BFN!! Not that I'm surprised. I don't really have any symptons although I think I try to convince myself otherwise. Its just that its been 34 days since my last AF but it must be because I've just come off the pill and my body is trying to find its cycle. I wish it would just bloody turn up now so I can continue trying!

At least one thing I've learnt is that I'm never taking a pg test in the ladies loo at work again!

Report
bundle4me · 03/01/2013 13:20

Can't help but feel completely gutted though and to make it worse I'm stuck at work now feeling infertile! DH doesn't even know that I've taken pg tests because I don't have the heart to tell him that it hasn't happened and I feel guilty for it not happening, esp as he assumes because there is no sign of AF it means I'm probably pg. Completely stupid really seen as this is only the first month trying and we may have to get used to the fact that it could take a long time.

I know I shouldn't but I just feel guilty that it hasn't happened, esp when he's so positive. Do you know what I mean? Gosh, I need to buck up! Think I'll go have something really naughty and fatty for my lunch now! And a drink when I get home tonight!

Hey bundle. Sorry to hear about your BFN. I too had a BFN this morning despite being 3 days late for my AF. I too have no symptoms apart from peeing a lot and having mild cramps. No sign of AF at all and I normally get signs.
Think I will retest in about 1/2 weeks if still no AF...

Girraferama · 03/01/2013 13:35

Hey bundle sorry to hear that. The best thing to do is to wallow in self pity for the rest of the day and start a fresh, positive approach tomorrow! I'll be your TTC buddy as it looks like we are in the same boat.

I know what you mean re your DH, mine was convinced I was pregnant and it killed me each time I had to tell him it was negative. I've tuned mine in to the fact it is going to take time now so he's less expectant!
Tbh I don't think it helps reading all the posts on here from people who have been trying for a year or two! Ignorance is bliss.

At least you can have a guilt free glass of wine now. I'm trying to go back to to trying (in my head) with the attitude "it will happen when it happens" but a late or non- existent AF is a killer! I'm not gonna let it beat me though!

Enjoy your lunch x

Girraferama, thank you so much, your words have really helped. I think I will take your advice about wallowing in self pity for the rest of the day and have a nice glass of wine tonight!

I called my DH on my break as I really needed to talk to him and said that I'd taken a test and what the result was. He was obviously gutted and especially that I'd done it without him being there but I explained it was because I didn't want to get his hopes up which he understood. I feel a lot better now that I've spoken with him about it and now he knows, as does your DH, that it will happen when it happens which is less pressure on me.

Thanks again for the advice and for listening to me whine!

Hey bundle glad I could be of help.

I went to the docs last night with hubby to get clarification on what the other one said. He told me very clearly there is nothing to worry about. He said it can take 6 months for periods to regulate after the pill and as long as I'd had A bleed in the first 3 months he wasn't concerned. He also said often the cycle returns to how it was before the pill, so he was less concerned as I was irregular beforehand. I should go backif AF still doesn't come back after another 2-3 months.

Feel much more reassured now (and relieved!) - not sure if any of this helps you. Hope you are feeling more positive today?

I've decided I'm going to start a thread specifically for us newbies as I think it will be good to club together?
