I have just had a call from te doctor to say my blood test results show I may have polycystic ovary syndrome.
I have regular periods,
The only issues I may have is weight.
What do I do?
Have been TTC for around 18months with 3 mc.

I'm so sorry about your news and your mc. I cant help with the PCOS but didnt want to run and read - hope someone's along in a bit who can offer some advice. Btw, if you've had 3 mc, the NHS (depending onyour age) should investigate this for you. So do push on this.

Best of luck. Smile

I have PCOS. I'm sitting here cuddling my 3-month old daughter. She's pretty cute.

I was given glucophage/metformin to try to control my blood sugars. I didn't get on well with that.

What worked for me (and I am not saying this will work for you necessarily) was the Dukan Diet. I had been given clomid, to take from day 2-6 of my cycle. However, I had no periods, so eventually I got sick of this and embarked on Dukan. Lo and behold, my period came back. I dutifully took my clomid on the prescribed days, and on the 5th cycle it took and my Katie arrived in June.

So there is plenty hope.

Best of luck.

Me too, I have two dd. Didn't find out til after dd1 (not very planned) Clomid didn't work for me, had given up, went on pill for a month (for glastonbury...), came off and lo was pg with dd2. You'll be fine, just may need to try different things, fact you're regular periodswise is a big plus.

Hang in there, i got diagnosed with PCOS about 6 yrs ago after tests for reason I had no period for about a yr. I was pregnant when got diagnosis so made it a bit easier. When trying for dc2 i followed a low gi diet and closely watched cycles for ov. Good luck with future, your GP should be able to help now got diagnosis. So sorry to hear about your mc hope you get a sticky one soon x

Hi lj, I also have PCOS, and am on day 21 of my first cycle of clomid. My nurse has advised me that clomid might not work for me because I don't have periods at all, but for women like you who do have regular periods it is often very effective.

I'd echo what others have said about trying to get your weight in check - PCOS goes hand in hand with insulin resistance, so what you really want is a low GI diet - but I'd also ask your doctor to refer you to a fertility specialist (as Pocket says, the NHS will investigate after 3 mcs)

Whatever you do, don't give up hope! It is definitely not the end for you.

I also have PCOS. I conceived last time with the help of Metformin. Just come off the pill again to try again. There is hope with PCOS so dont despair! xx
