6 BFPs at home but -ve at hospital + bleeding?

Not sure if this is the right place to post. I'm asking for a close friend.

Friend has PCOS, and has been TTC for 10 months.

She has had 5 BFPs after POAS at home. Today she had some bleeding so went to the hospital where they tested her urine & blood and both were negative. The bleeding has become heavier at home, but she's still positive after testing at home.

She is very confused, as was the consultant, that the hospital tested -ve. She is booked for a scan later in the week.

I think she accepts it's probably a MMC, but confused about the -ves.

Any ideas?

I would have loved to give her some positive words, but they would be empty.

It's just such a bitch when she's been so concerned about her fertility. She said she's gone from elation to devestation to confusion in a few hours.

Any idea why she might have had a mix of +ve & -ve results?

Hospitals don't usually have as sensitive tests and also they don't like to squint like we do. I've known doctors say it is BFN because the line isn't a decent amount of darkness, even though it's clearly visible.

Ah sorry, I see that her blood was tested too. In which case it's likely the bHCG has left the blood, but it takes a few days to leave the urine. In the same way when you get pregnant it shows up in your blood a few days before you can get a BFP with a home urine test.

She was told she didn't need the scan in the end as she was -ve on Friday. :-(

My first MC was very similar, home tests even digital where positive and hospital blood results where showing that wasn't the case, my second was all over the place positives all round but nothing seen on scan, my third was an early MC.

Recently been to the doctors and they are testing my hormones, 6 tubes of blood taken on Thursday, I find out same day next week.
Nothing anyone says can change the way you feel about loosing a potential life.
