Thought I would start a September thread as I loved being on the August one so much. Just a pity August wasn't my month!

Anyhoo onwards and upwards. Hoping this will be a lucky month for me and everyone else hoping for BFPs

I'm on cd7 at the mo and just started using the clearblue opk to feed my poas addiction til ov :) I think I'll be ov around the 23rd and hoping for my BFP on 6 september as a fabulous birthday present.

weechops - cycle 3 - BFP due 6 sep

Was wondering if anyone else has this with the opk

My original plan was to use cheap amazon opk's and then use a cb one to confirm the result, I didn't realise that with cheap ones you checked later in the day and with cb you use fmu, so that plan didn't work out for me.

Monday afternoon I got a + with a cheapie, Tuesday afternoon got another + with a cheapie, this morning I thought I'd check again with a cb just to confirm a - was my thinking but i got a smiley face so another +.

Don't get me wrong we're just dtd with every + so its not a problem, I was just a little confused as the cheapie's say I'd ovulate within the next 24-36h and the cb says ovulation within the next 48h. I'm new to this but I'm fairly certain I can't be ovulating for 3 daysConfused

BlocketteBananaSmoothie · 29/08/2012 10:26

Don't have a clue Lexi! - Pass! But I'd sooner believe the cb one tbh.

Poor Dexi grab some chocolate that will take the grumps away! :)

pocopearl · 29/08/2012 11:13

lexi I use opk and i use the cheap ones (got 100 sticks on ebay for £7). I find they are good at giving you an idea, i dont know what brand you are using, but mine will show a 2nd line that is feint which is also a negative, its only a + when the control line and the test line are the same strength.

BeauticianNotMagician · 29/08/2012 11:58

In feeling really nauseous today. However, there has been a bug going around.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasAnOrange · 29/08/2012 12:52

lexi I use the cheap amazon ones. They stay positive for 24 to 48 hours. I tend to assume I have oved after they go negative again (I am a bit mental though and test about 4 times a day).

grumpypants dexidoo sorry it feels like af is one her way. I never know which is worse. Her early arrival shattering the dream or her late arrival but no bfn leaving you in limbo land.

Lolcbcblemonlime · 29/08/2012 13:35

Dexy hope af has not showed up yet...
Lexi I will use amazon cheapies for the first time this month. Hoping it will give me an idea.
Any news or poas action from anyone?

LexiLoganberry · 29/08/2012 14:19

Thanks for your replies, I'm only testing once a day at around 3pm with the cheapies and they work like pocopearls said. My cheapie went - on this afternoons test, but my cb this morning was +

My +'s have come at a busy time for my poor DH, he's getting up for work at 5:10 and isn't getting home till 9pm so dtd isn't very relaxed or romantic at the moment.

PerpetualProvocateur · 29/08/2012 20:08

Hello ladies, I popped in yesterday as berryberrylate but was still hanging onto hope for August. AF got me today after a 37-day cycle (my first after childbirth), so here I am. I'm hoping to have a shorter cycle this time, otherwise I will still be waiting in October!

pocopearl · 29/08/2012 21:37

lexi i am using 60 - 100 a month mainly to satisfy my pos addiction. all seriousness i would use temp as well as opk.

qazxc · 30/08/2012 08:38

Hi. Just got smiley yesterday, very unexpected as i thought it would be around 5th of september. Maybe the miscarriage has knocked things out of wack. So cue me running after DP keenly hysterically suggesting ordering we DTD whilst waving POAS around. I think DP was shocked that i was showing some sort of emotion as i have been on autopilot since the miscarriage. I don't feel happy or sad, i just don't feel anything and am going through the motions. I think after 2 miscarriages in 6 months and a horrible job i can't leave, my brain is just shutting down.

babyjamesblackberrycrumble · 30/08/2012 08:45

Morning all. Brew anyone?
I started using OPK yesterday for first time since MC. I know this will be a WTF cycle but don't want to miss any chances! Hope I get to see that smiley soon! Poco I found temping so hard last time and gave up in the end. I'm hoping I don't have to go down that route again.

LexiLoganberry · 30/08/2012 08:55

pocopearl I'll get a thermometer for next cycle if we don't catch this month, saw on a thread somewhere that they're only a few pounds on amazon.

I honestly don't think that I could poas multiple times a day, I'm desperate to pee at the end of my 4hours 90% of the time. My opk's say that I have to reduce fluid intake before I test, think I'd be a dehydrated mess.

I can see why you do more than one opk, a poster on here said that they'd tested at there normal time and got a neg result, later in the evening got a pos and was back to neg by the next day, so she would of missed it had the extra test not been done.

Smile
BeauticianNotMagician · 30/08/2012 10:40

I plan on getting my opks soon ready for next month. But reading the last few posts it seems rather complicated so i may get a thermometer as well.

LexiLoganberry · 30/08/2012 10:56

Beautician I'm not sure it is complicated, I just made things confusing for myself by buying 2 different brands, I'd stick to 1 type if I were you.

Good luck. I'm just a bit daftWink

VioletCherry · 30/08/2012 11:04

Qaxzc Don't be hard on yourself, you have obviously been through a lot in the last few months. TTC can be an emotional rollercoaster at the best of times so not surprising that you feel numb at the minute.
I don't pretend to know how you feel but whenever I have a problem I try to turn to my friends and family. It can be hard to admit worries but sharing a problem can be a relief in itself. Best wishes.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasAnOrange · 30/08/2012 11:15

qaxzc I feel your pain. I too work in a shit job I can't afford to quit and am getting sick of ttc and chem pregs. Congrats on the positive opk and getting a well timed shag in.
I am not surprised you are feeling numb after all you have been through. Have you got people you can speak to about how you are feeling?

BeauticianNotMagician · 30/08/2012 11:22

Quazxc Sending virtual hugs to you.Hoping that you have a BFP soon and a nice sticky one.I hope work ease up for you.

Im hating work at the moment im self employed and im paying out more than im earning. So ive applied for a few employed jobs and have a few interviews lined up.However, im not sure just how silly this is considering ive just started ttc.

Ive now ordered my cb opks.Only 4 more days and Af is due.

BeauticianNotMagician · 30/08/2012 11:24

Oops posted too soon.

pocopearl · 30/08/2012 12:29

lexi i am at the point atm where ovulation is imminent and everytime i go pee i take a stick with me.

Am feeling like this is my month! Am very positive and have firmly decided I will get a BFP this month! I even read somewhere that around ovulation your saliva under a microscope 'ferns' so I purchased a cheap one of ebay just to see. DH thinks is amused by my new obsession thinks I'm a complete nutter .

babyjamesblackberrycrumble · 30/08/2012 13:09

qaxzc sorry for the crossed post earlier. Dealing with 1 MC is hard enough never mind 2 in such a short space of time. Be kind to yourself and hope you managed to DTD Wink.
IPoco I think I should ovulate within the next 6 days. This will be a strange cycle though as not sure when to count day 1 after MC. Do you think I should POAS more than once a day? I'm worried I will miss it now.
I am also hating my job. I took a week off after MC and now on Annual Leave. I won't wan't to go back after 3 weeks off! Also hard when people asked where I have been. Feels wrong to lie about MC but also hard to talk about.

weechops · 30/08/2012 13:57

7dpo and I can feel the poas temptation starting already! I woke up feeling a bit nauseous this morning but settled down quickly. Got a rotten migraine too and just want to veg on the couch. :(

BeauticianNotMagician · 30/08/2012 14:15

Weechops I am also fighting the urge to poas.Im trying to hold out until next Tuesday.Although due to the family get together on Saturday im not sure whether to poas in order to see if im ok to drink.

I keep symptom spotting.Got a weird pulling feeling in my tummy today. I am quite certain that ive worked myself up so much that these are symptoms of anxiety rather than pregnancy.Plus im stressing about our Wedding. The perfect venue i wanted is just too far out of our budgetSad
