Did anyone have period-style bleeds after no-bleed pregnancies?

This is going to turn out to be that I'm not pregnant, I know. But all the same, I wonder.

We are ttc dc3. The first two pregnancies were very different to each other (one HG, one no sickness at all) but I didn't bleed at all with either. I have never, to my knowledge, suffered a miscarriage.
So for 3 months, I have been spotting for a few days before my period, then my normal period starts. This is not normal for me- Never happened before. Also, my clockwork (to the hours!) 28-day cycles have become 24 days. Then now, for a few days, my boobs feel pregnant.
Unlikely to be menopause, I am 29.

I know I have to take a test, just in case. But I am struggling not to get into the obsessive ttc mindset I was in with DS2 (he took years to conceive). I was taking tests every month and was devastated with the negatives.

I suppose I'm just asking if anyone has had this? I know if tests are negative, I need to see a doctor as things have changed.

I'm not a doctor, and have no medical insight to share, but didn't want your post to go unanswered. As far as spotting goes, it's really not uncommon (there's a big thread about it here somewhere). My periods changed after a mmc - much lighter, with spotting before and after. Some cycles have lots of spotting, others almost none, with no discernible cause or outcome. The dr thinks there is nothing to worry about, it's just normal hormonal shifts, and isn't worried that my cycles have changes from being pretty much clockwork to having less of a pattern.

TTC is tough. If you get upset by bfns (who doesn't!) I would strongly recommend not testing until your period is definitely late. And I found temping and charting reassuring, as knowing that my temperature is falling removes the temptation to think that spotting/ light period might be a sign of pregnancy!

Hope others come along with further words of advice too...

Thank you Shnredni. I am managing better with ttc this time- I'm not actually stressed about it at all. I get a slight disappointment when my period comes, but nothing like it was before. I just don't want to get into the cycle of testing IYKWIM... My period has to be a week late before I test this time.

The only reason I'm thinking of it now because of the changes in my period and the telltale ache in my boobs. I was just thinking today, if I was pregnant and still having bleeds... I'd probably be pretty far along now.

But you're right. I think it is my mind playing tricks on me, and possibly just a hormonal switch. Thanks for replying. :)

I suddenly developed these symptoms about 18 months after stopping the pill. I never had sore breasts or spotting before I went on the pill either. It's not consistent either - today AF has turned up out of the blue without any spotting! I've grown accustomed to the variety if I'm honest, I usually test the day before or the day AF is due. Still no babies yet! I only wondered if taking folic acid might impact on the symptoms?

Not a very scientific response but just to say you're not alone.
