No LH surge yet, CD 14 of 28

Hi,

I have been testing since day 10 as per the instructions and nothing yet, is it normal to ovulate later than day 14? I had some egg white CM yesterday morning but nothing since.......any advice?

it is possible to ovulate later than day 14, how long is your cycle normally.

I have a 28 day cycle and I didn't get the surge until day 15

Personally speaking, I get the egg white CM roughly for the 5-ish days up to ov - that's me, but I think it probably means you are due to soon. I ovulate between days 16 to 18.

Thanks all, thats re-assuring. I have 28 day cycle by the way. I feel sorry for my poor DH, more BD on demand until then!!

Hi Suwoo,

You can actually have more than one LH surge per month, infact many women do. A LH surge is not always followed by ovulation either.

Ovulation is not an exact science and it is quite possible to have periods without ovulating. Ovulation does not always occur on the 14th day; it can occur earlier, later or not at all in any one given cycle.

Although OPK's are very persuasive they are not always reliable and especially so if menstrual cycle are irregular.

I am on day 15, of a 30-34 day cycle. So, normally get the cm on day 20ish. Yesterday - i was surprised to see a little of it - never happens so early - so we bd last night and this a.m i tested and yep - got the surge line. So now how often should be do it? Every night for the next week just to be on the safe side?

no not temping. i am now worried that i have missed the actual ovulation, i was surprised that i got the surge early and we did not bd at any other time this cycle - for a couple that are wanting a baby i sometimes wonder........any advice?

LOL, Klou, that was us too, I sometimes think I am trying for a baby in my head and forgetting that you actually have to have sex too!!!!

MeerkatsUnite is right i have regular peroids, every 26 days, and had loads of bloods done and they say am not ovulating

Klou, if you only got the LH surge line today then that means that if an egg is released it will be over the next 24/48 hours so you haven't ovulated yet. So go girl!!

Suwoo, to be safe it is probably best to have sex as much as possible and for as long after the surge as is possible - although apparently every other day would suffice.

suwoo - i feel much happier reading your post!! it's not that i don't like sex, it's just that all i can think of it as baby sex and just cannot make it fun.my son is 3.5 - so a big age gap already, but i am not trying to get hung up about that! It's so up and down, like now I may be ovulating so i am on a big high and then the build up to the test brings another set of emotions...but with regard to sex, sometimes we only do it 5-6 times in the month and well - bit of a wing and a prayer i hope to concieve, i know we have to step it up but just cannot seems to grasp the concet of sex all the time!! am i a lost case?? anyone??

so today is day 16 and this a.m no surge line. is this normal? as i wrote yesterday, i had the surge line but it was very early in my cycle. does anyone understand? thanks ....

My understanding Klou is that you would only see the line when the surge is about to happen 24-48 hrs from the test, so by now that point has passed therefore no line appears.

I am on day 15 and still no bloody line on my OPK test, lots of EWCM though(sorry Blush) Oh well, will kepp BD Grin

thank you suwoo. thing is - i have had very little to no EWCM, but a surge line yesterday.... very strange - and you have EWCM and no surge line. i just don't get it. is there a chance that the LH hormone that detects it comes and goes?

Klou, you sound like my DH!! I said to my mum on the phone earlier "Am I that disgusting, that he can't bear to go near me" LOL!!
I've done 2 LH surge tests today and still no bloody line, still EWCM though.

suwoo - any surge line yet? do you have children or are you trying for number 1? I have a little boy - he's 3. We have been trying since May 05. I live in the States, where you can't buy Persona, i have since learnt - that was going to be my next obsession!!!

Hi Klou, yes surge line today, day 16 YAY!!! We did it last night and he'll have to perform tonight too.
Yes I have a daughter who is 4 next Tuesday, its her party this Sunday. I wanted there to be a big gap between them, I initially said 7/8 years but then got too broody!! Re the persona, I will happily get one and send it to you if you paypal me, I would list it on Ebay for you if you felt safer that way.

Go for it girl! I'm so happy for you that you finally got it! I've tested again the morning, and nothing ( day 17 ). Just don't get why I had a surge line on day 15, but no EWCM. Just keep trying i guess. Thanks for offering to help me with the Persona, i didnt realise you could buy them on ebay, i can do that from here. Thanks again - that was kind. Good Luck in the next few days and let me know any good news. So i guess we should be testing around 13-14th March. fingers crossed for you!
