Anyone else feeling rough after coming off the pill as part of TTC?

Hi. I came off the pill on 8th June, and think I ovulated in the past few days as I've had horrendous stabbing pain in my abdomen and been feeling queasy and had headaches for the past 3 days. The ECWM was present a couple of days beforehand too. Did anyone else feel like that when stopping the pill and having their first normal monthly cycle? Currently off sick from work today as I felt so dizzy and faint this morning that I didn't think I could handle the meetings & travel I had to do today. That can't be right! Had to tell them I had a stomach bug.

Didn't feel like this when I came off the same pill previously. Only difference is, I've been on it for 6 years this time, whereas before it would be a year on, year off etc. as relationships came and went. Just not sure what I can take to ease the sickness and dizziness. Drinking peppermint tea is helping but I just hope this feeling goes away - not sure I want to feel like this for weeks on end whilst the hormones settle down. Any advice?

Is it the surge in some kind of hormone that's around to make you ovulate?

Hi Veggie I felt exactly the same. Also felt very emotional, but the good news is, it went after 3 weeks, so the end is in sight Smile

As far as easing the symptoms, I just found that eating little and often sorted the sickness out. Hope you are feeling much better soon.

Yes, I posted about this last month as I also felt horrible coming off the pill - so much so that I'd actually started to get excited about being pregnant (silly me). I felt sick for about 3 weeks or so, also very dizzy and faint like you describe.

I had my first "proper" period a few weeks ago and this cycle seems to be a lot better. Hopefully you'll feel better in a few weeks, too.

I am in this exact situation just now, and like purplefairies am thinking about POAS to see what that says.

I'm a bit confused re the whole thing, because some people say it is possible to get pregnant in the very first cycle off, whereas my sensible head says the chances are very small.

Like you Veggie it's just in the last week or so I've felt rubbish (sore boobs, feeling sick, frequent weeing, increased discharge (TMI sorry), and even one tiny bit of spotting, which could be confused with an implantation bleed) and I came off the pill on 3rd June.

I didn't feel like the the last time either Veggie and had been on it for longer then.

Who knows eh?!

So I did POAS, and BFN.

Hi ladies. Bit of an update - I feel loads better today! I think I was at my worst with the nausea for about 3 days solid with a headache either side of that time. I suspect it was right in the window of when I was ovulating, as I had cramps / stabbing pain as if an egg was being released or something. So I'm wondering if being off the pill for 6 years then releasing an egg after all that time was perhaps a bit traumatic on my body. We shall see ...Going to keep a diary now of how I'm feeling then if it's like that again next month then at least I'll know what days I may feel rubbish....

Hi Veggie, glad you are feeling better. I still felt really sick this morning.
