Not sure. We did one month at our normal shagging rate {2x per week ish} and got a bfn. Next month we did every other day and got a bfp.

Every other day is really fine, honestly. You need to give your partner's 'reserves' time to resupply!
To make sure you hit the right time I'd say do it every other day from the time your period ends to just after mid cycle (if you have regular cycles).
This worked for me - I've been pg 6 times (4 miscarriages though).
