If you had a caesarian, when did you start TTC your next baby?

I'm a smidgeon premature asking this because my baby girl is only 2 1/2 weeks old, but I'm already looking forward to (hopefully) start growing a little sister or brother for her next year.

My midwife and doctor say different things about when to have another baby (one or two years), but I'd prefer to have a second sooner rather than later , so would it be reasonable to TTC from early next year, or is it better to wait a little longer?

I didn't TTC - it was accidental - but I had my second child 16-17 months (VBAC) after a caesarian and no-one seemed the least concerned.

I was advised 6 months, started TTC at 5 months (figured 4 weeks wouldn't make a difference) and like you v v v old Wink and it had taken a year to conceive my first son. Conceived when he was 10 months and had ELCS.

13 months, and that's only because I was still breastfeeding my 1 year old until he was a year, and then I had to wait until I got my period back. Concieved when he was 14 months Shock, currently 10 weeks pregnant and feeling rotten.

Thanks for your replies Smile. So I might be able to have another baby sooner than I thought.

Congratulations, BuntyCollocks. On the bright side, the worse you feel, the better your pregnancy's going Wink.

Right then, I might start trying for the second baby in January next year. Especially as I now want at least three.
