Opk extrmely faint line 6 days in a row?

most of the month get nothing, now I have very very faint line for 6 days in a row, if I did ovulat it was on the 2nd or third of these days because I had cramps and lots of EWCM. Never had a clear positive- best guess is that my peak is too short to catch - but I usually have a reasonable line at some point, now I have to squint to see it at all though is definitely there.
Anyone had similar and/ or knows what this means?

How often are you testing? If just once per day you might be missing the surge

Christelle2207 · 26/05/2012 13:06

Yes- I agree. However I thought the line should disappear entirely eventually and it has not done yet.

The instructions on the tests I used said that everyone (men included?!?!) has a very low base level of LH in their blood at all times and that OPKs show a surge when the test line is darker than the control. A faint line may be your "norm". I'm definitely not an expert and was quite confused (especially when I did a pg test and an opk and got the two mixed up!!) so am unlikely to use them again. For me symptoms like ewcm, spotting, bloatedness are much clearer indicators for a change in hormones although whether they relate to ov, no idea!

Agree with bugoven. My opk's always show a line, throughout the month.

As bugoven says you always have some lh in the body.

I would guess that the reason you have been seeing a line over the past 6 days is because the weather has been so warm. You sweat more and your urine is more concentrated. I am a bit obsessed with peeing on sticks and have recently been doing 3 to 4 opks a day. (I know I am mental)

My lh line has been much more visible since the weather go hot. Also I think I ovulated today. My opks were

Friday 7am - negative
Friday 12pm - positive (lh line same as control line)
Friday 9pm - very positive (really dark line)
Sat 7am - negative

So if you are only testing once a day I think you could easily miss the lh spike.

Thanks all v useful. I had given up on opks but thought I would try again-now I think they will go back in the drawer. The warm weather thing is an interesting and probably very relevant point, though am still no closer to knowing when I ovluated, if I did. I had a lot of EWCM (and the usual cramping) then that dried up. Could the best guess be that I ov the last day I had EWCM or poss the day after ( I.e. am I too late now as that was days ago?). As well as rotten luck with OPKS I don't get anywhere with temping either, which varies too much to get a consistent pattern.
