Without wanting to completely out myself, I work for one of the emergency services. Don't really want to call in sick so will just try to sleep late afternoon/early evening before work and hopefully feel a little better afterwards.

I don't think the late af/late bfp is odd at all, probably just means you ovulated later than you thought. I bet its actually quite common and women who aren't ttc don't even notice it, but we do because we're tracking cycles, symptom spotting etc etc.

That definitely makes sense about the diluted urine, maybe test again in the morning after no fluids all night? or are you leaving any more testing until Thursday?

KickingUpQuestions · 15/05/2012 14:20

Yeh crumbs you don't need to say any more about where you work! Take ibuprofen and hot chocolate and eat something that you love but that you know you shouldn't' have :)

I read an interesting article about it. My only complaint is then if I ovulated late, does the LP change to accommodate my regular cycle length? Because I've been under a fair bit of stress in the last year and I've still not been late with AF? What that means is that - why I am I late now?! Darn it! :)

I do wake up thirsty and I wear a mouth guard at night so between sudden random thirst and the mouth guard, I am waking up and drinking at least 500ml of water during the night. The other night was a litre. Eeep. But I test the first urine of the day.

I will know soon enough though.

Have you tried preseed and all that?

redstrawberry · 15/05/2012 14:23

hang in there kicking and happily the waiting is painful but thats what these forums are for.
kicking should you drink water in the middle of the night before testing? Doesn't that dilute the FMU :)?

I am still symptom free but not expecting them to start until the weekend. Still I keep wishing every hour, every min that I would feel a twinge, a cramp, a sore boob! Anything! anything to give me a sign!

my cycles are like clockwork too, expecting AF to show its ugly head next week if there are no symptoms. I have tacky CM now so def no chance of OV this late in the cycle.

Although crazy question - can you ovulate a week before AF due on a regular cycle of 30 days?

KickingUpQuestions · 15/05/2012 14:32

The later the symptoms start, the better. Progesterone will increase in your system until about 10dpo. Then it starts to decrease if you're not pregnant and increase if you are. So the later the symptoms start, the higher the chance they won't be PMS symptoms.

What is tacky CM? Isn't it supposed to then dry up if you're not pregnant and stay wet if you are?

I think the trouble with OV 7 days before AF is that your body doesn't get enough time to completely implant. It takes (on average) 24 hours to fertilise, then it sits for up to 3 days, then it moves down the fallopian tubes for up to a week and implants for up to 3 days (I think it's 3 days). After the implantation, hcg starts to be released by the placenta and about 5 days after that, you can pick it up in the blood stream.

So you should look at a positive test 12 - 19 DPO

KickingUpQuestions · 15/05/2012 14:32

Whoops - the "my cycles are like clockwork" was your message I forgot to delete. I copy and paste messages so I can reply properly :D

PickledFanjoCat · 15/05/2012 14:37

You seem like a knowledgable lot on here! Seeing as my cycles are a bit out of whack would anyone suggest Vitex?

redstrawberry · 15/05/2012 15:50

TMI - tacky (i found the terminology on mumsnet) CM is like sticky and wet - white bits. I haven't dried up yet and mildly wet i.e. some residue on knickers but wet within cervix.

QueenOfTheRodeo · 15/05/2012 15:53

I agree with red - kicking it would be hard but if you could ignore the thirst through the night then maybe you would get a more accurate result with FMU?

Haven't tried preseed, don't really know a lot about it? Ditto vitex so can't help with that one sorry pickled

redstrawberry · 15/05/2012 15:54

ah! thanks for that explanation kicking I have been googling to find out what happens between fetilisation and implantation - but never knew the fertilised egg sits there for a few days before beginning the journey into the uterus.

KickingUpQuestions · 15/05/2012 15:55

Cool ladies I will try that - thanks.

I found a cool little interesting theory that said female foetuses kick out higher hcg at a faster rate and male foetuses take a bit longer... Has anyone experienced that?

I feel like a game of tennis. Literally. Bouncing between sure I'm pregnant to doubting it completely.

KickingUpQuestions · 15/05/2012 15:57

Does the tacky CM dry up? And does the cervix get dryer? Any idea?

redstrawberry · 15/05/2012 16:04

My CM charting goes this way for past cycles -
AF
1-2 dry days
Wet days
EWCM :)
Tacky / Sticky CM
2-3 dry days
AF again.

This cycle its been
AF
1 dry day
Wet days
very Wet days
Tacky / Sticky CM

KickingUpQuestions · 15/05/2012 16:13

Mine was the same up until EWCM :D

Then:
Wet days
very Wet days
Tacky / Sticky CM

And it's been like that for the passed 15 days?

KickingUpQuestions · 15/05/2012 16:15

I am getting weird dull aches in my tummy today. I had twinges earlier today but now is just a pressure / full / dull ache.

Not sure if that's good or bad?

I had more intense, normal AF type cramps on Saturday and Sunday but I thought that was implantation...

everythinghappensforareason · 15/05/2012 16:25

sorry about AF aday FX for June.

pickle you have made my day hahaha!

Sorry for you too queen :( + thankyou.

kicking i was looking again at a different website today + it said according to my ovulation day, i would implant on CD25, my cycles are only 25days, so i would implant on AF day :/ haha! maybe u have just ovulated later than thought`:)

ive never in all my time of ttc tried to feel my cervix, but since it was mentioned earlier how could i not have a gander!! if i was feeling the right place it felt hard and kinda pointy :/ weird. CM has dried up, this would be a good sign in my case, i have increased CM before AF!

4 days + counting, can't come quick enough ha!!

OP posts:
everythinghappensforareason · 15/05/2012 16:30

Ohh + yess if your not using fmu, they said hold your pee for 4hours + drink very little or nothing, thats why fmu is best because you have gone all them hours without diluting it, have u tried fmu kicking?? xx

OP posts:
KickingUpQuestions · 15/05/2012 16:43

I couldn't hold my pee for 4 hours!! I go like...every hour during the day and if I don't go....well - it could get messy.

Well you can implant the day before though. So no reason for that not to happen? I think I already think I ovulated at CD 17 so on a 28 day cycle, I think I would be pushing it a bit? I had EWCM, ovulation spotting and pains on the 1 May so kind of assume that it was then? If I ovulated even later than that, it would be strange... For my normal cycles.

Yeh me neither!!! And now, I've told my DH about it and he grins at me like a cheshire cat! Only when TTCing does it become acceptable. Mine feels hard and pointy I think but it's the bits around it that are weird for me. Actually, my DH noticed it a while ago. I am very....ahem....tight apparently. We tried to DTD once and he battled to get in. TMI TMI TMI!!!!!!!

Oooh FX for the CM as a factor though! :D

KickingUpQuestions · 15/05/2012 16:45

I do use the FMU though. Well - as I can. I woke up at 1am, 3am and 6.45am to pee so use the one when I am properly up and about.

redstrawberry · 15/05/2012 17:15

Oh this month I think I spent too much time analysing and furkling about in the cervix.

hahahaha kicking banishing mental images of battle to get in. I havea hard and pointy entrance, slightly soft and squidgy in the middle and hard again at the top. but the gap has gotten narrower post OV.

But more importantly - MAJOR SYMPTOM ALERT - I started feeling sharp stabbing pains in my abdomen, burning sometimes, on the right hand side and the middle. I am not liking it at all - it hurts! But could it be implantation??!
Its been there for the last 30mins and still getting stronger.... Smile ahhh! A symptom at last.

KickingUpQuestions · 15/05/2012 17:22

I agree. I've spent too much time fcuking about trying to find reasons for why my x is feeling y

I have soft and squishy the whole way. It's like...a sea creature that is soft and squishy.

OOOH FINGERS CROSSED FOR OVULATION!!!! (wait - implantation or ovulation?) Mine were just cramps though but some people say theirs were quite intense?

Is there ONLY mild cramping during implantation or do you cramp for a while through early pregnancy? I am having on and off cramps again. I never cramp on and off for AF so not sure?

redstrawberry · 15/05/2012 17:34

I actually only cramp on Day 2 or Day 3 of AF when its all in full flow. I don't experience cramps before AF ever.

And this sensation is completely new, not like a cramp more like a stab or a poke. It feels very hot inside - it could be OV though? But then again I never get OV pains or cramps too.

Its fading from the right and moving to under the belly button - I can feel it sharp and clear Shock damn! I so need those James Bond see-through spy glasses.

KickingUpQuestions · 15/05/2012 17:54

i don't know about the pains you are having to be honest. Google?!! all cramping i have is like twinges in my lower abs if i stretch or suck my tummy in.
they are also cramps like dull aches that come and go.

my cramps have gone again. i didn't have this in December.

everythinghappensforareason · 15/05/2012 18:12

Haha the graphic images that have just flashed infront of my eyesBlush

red i get quite bad ovulation pain, too the point i'm wondering if it is normal.

Ive convinced myself ino the exact moment of ovulation(from the cramps), then yesterday the mild period type cramps and very heavy CM, possible implantation??

dried up again today! but we will just see in a few days. Longest 4days of my life.

This is becoming such an exiting thread :o

Hi Guys,

Af has shown slight signs of arrival so I think I'm probably out. At least cycle is bang on track and didn't waste any £££ tests! Got to see the positives :)

Goodluck to those waiting for BFP's!!

KickingUpQuestions · 15/05/2012 18:27

oh bollocks kitty. see you in June thread?

my cramps are coming and going but no sign of AF. also was thinking am sure everything i didn't cramp in December? i had no symptoms apart from no AF. not even sore boobs
