yours must have been devastated. my mindset changes the longer we try.

i am 30 and dh is 31. we can be cycle buddies!!

i won't tell many people either. luckily we had a positive test on xmas eve and i seemed to start AF on xmas day.

are you sure your AF is today?

KickingUpQuestions · 14/05/2012 21:27

pickled - ouch those cycles are long.

generally, a blood test can pick up hcg 2-3 days before a urine test. but i would go and get the full hormone test to make sure everything was normal

there is so much crap.

redstrawberry · 14/05/2012 21:29

Hi everyone I can't seem to stop thinking so might as well join in the banter!
Kicking Smile

I am hopping to get some symptoms soon - just had a good grope around the boobs - nothing! Hubs holding head in hands thinking I'm going mental.

PickledFanjoCat · 14/05/2012 21:45

I made my DP test mine for hotness. He is really relaxed about the whole thing good job as I am obsessed!

Maybe I should go to the drs then. I think 28-35 days is normal which is why I havent been before, but 37 is just to long.

KickingUpQuestions · 14/05/2012 22:03

red - i had no pain or tenderness until Saturday. should have cone on yesterday

ha i am getting dh to Google imags of breasts :D

we obviously married well

PickledFanjoCat · 14/05/2012 22:08

They are good arent they? He is so chilled and I am a mentalist.

Its a right bugger that most of the early pregnancy symtoms are the same as AF ones. It would have been better to develop green spots or something!

Are you both going to test in the morning? Good luck and let me know how you get on.

redstrawberry · 14/05/2012 22:26

I'm testing in June but have no symptoms at all. Lol yes we have married well. Ooo I might give the google breasts a go. Must remember to clear such history before family pop in this weekend! You never know who might grab the iPad these days!!

everythinghappensforareason · 15/05/2012 09:05

Hi Ladies, sorry you still haven't got a definate answer kicking. i took my last internet cheapy yesterday. Could of swore i had a "ghost of a line" was very evapy looking though. and i possible only implanted yesterday, if at all. i experiences some mild period like cramps + increased CM, feel fine this morning though. Should have my tests i ordered here Thursday, I should no for sure then, AF due Saturday!!

This ttc does make u bonkers haha! I think this is the worst bit of all, these few days before AF is due + we start breaking out the tests and willing there too be two lines and if there isn't,we imagine theres 1 ;) xx

OP posts:
KickingUpQuestions · 15/05/2012 09:15

Still BFN and still no AF

Apart from the ghostly, barely there ClearBlue last night.

We're on the fence. We're not getting excited or depressed about it. I could come on today but I also know that if I did implant on Saturday, it's too early for hormones.

Feeling a bit crampy this morning though...

everythinghappensforareason · 15/05/2012 09:18

Ohh kicking i do hope AF stays away :) Hoping u will no one way or another in the next few days!!

I'm dying too no aswell, Ive taken folic acid last few days incase. just a waiting game now, wish i wasn't so impatient x

OP posts:
KickingUpQuestions · 15/05/2012 09:23

Keep taking folic acid!! You should have started like 3 months before trying so take everyday from now on! (unless you are!)

I have always taken the folic acid but now am doing the pregnacare wellness range. I've been on folic acid for over a year now. Stupid thing.

Yep - will know either way. I have my mate googling the random internal swelling I've had for ages. I have no idea what "engorged" innards means?

everythinghappensforareason · 15/05/2012 09:29

I will keep taking them, sometime wonder if its worth it? i don't no, managed to concieve DS with out all this and inbetween booze up's! I always say, if it's going to happen, it'll happen, but i will take them + see haha!

I'm not to sure what that is either, maybe see your GP ? x

Did you do another this morning kicking

From what Ive read the First Response are supposed to be really good at picking up pregnancy early.

Still no news here as well! CD 38 now!

homeaway · 15/05/2012 09:40

Pickle, you may not have ovulated just after your pos opk as an opk just indicates a rise in lh and does not mean that you have ovulated. You can sometimes gear up to ovulate and then for whatever reason ( stress etc.. ) your body decides not to. If you are charting then you will be able to see if your pos opk falls in line with your pos opk . Charting will give you lots more info about what is going on. If your cycle goes on much later and you are sure you are not pregnant then i think you ask the dr for something to bring on af. hth.

KickingUpQuestions · 15/05/2012 09:42

It depends - the First Response older version is very sensitive and picks up like 8mIU. The later versions pick up 25mIU.

Superdrug picks up 10mIU and Clear Blue picks up 25mIU

In the first week of pregnancy, you can be from 5mIU - 50mIU.

What this means is that the level of pregnancy hormone in your blood needs to be higher the higher the test. So the old version of First Response (I can't find it in Boots or Superdrug so it's not the standard one they sell now) is the best. Second should be Superdrug.

The other funny thing is that they take the tests based on the blood tests the women get after a positive. So if I test now on the Superdrug one, and go to the doctors in two days time and they test - whatever the blood level is is the level they advertise their sensitivity at.

For that reason, the advertised numbers on the packets may test at a lower sensitivity. It's not an exact science.

Which is rubbish :D

PickledFanjoCat · 15/05/2012 09:46

If you dont ovulate do you get no AF at all? Its never happened to me before, Ive always had one!

Im sure its nothing too much to worry about, everyone has a freaky cycle now and again, but Ive got a new CBFM and I am itching to start using it and get on with a new cycle.

PickledFanjoCat · 15/05/2012 09:47

Oh and I have def AF symptoms, sore boobs, vile mood sat water retention etc etc.

PickledFanjoCat · 15/05/2012 09:48

kicking its a minefield isnt it. Last time I had a super faint line on an internet cheapie, which was the allegedly most sensitive test I had and the same day really strong positives on less sensitive tests.

everythinghappensforareason · 15/05/2012 10:09

When i had a CP, first response picked it up really early around 9DPO, quite a good line aswel, and the CB plus! I think it just varies with everyone.
But in my experience internet cheapys r a waste, ive never got a good line with them when ive been preg, never had more than an evap, and they supposidly pick up 10miu!

I don't feel AF'y today :) 4days away, but still usualy getting a little moody by now, had twinges in right boob last night + sorry for tmi had a little diareeahBlush this is a good sign for me, as with DS i had this a week before af was due, was my 1st symptom, although my bowls have a mind of there own most of the time, so can't get too exited!!

When is everyone testing now:o???

OP posts:
homeaway · 15/05/2012 10:35

You can still get af even if you have not ovulated ( annovulatory cycle). It is easy to see on a temp chart your temp would be up and down with no clear shift, whereas a normal chart would be lower temps pre ovulation with a rise after then a drop for af.

PickledFanjoCat · 15/05/2012 10:49

AF has arrived. Maybe will temp this month then to get a clearer picture whats going on, but as I got the positive OPK a couple of days late it sort of makes sense that AF was late too. It gave me a 37 day cycle.

Happilymarried155 · 15/05/2012 10:55

Everything I'm hoping to hold out until Friday-I really hope I do! My cycle is normally between 29-32 days, today is day 29. I really don't want to get into analysing everything and testing early because il send myself crazy. I'm trying to keep busy and not think about it. I don't tend to get any symptoms of AF until it actually arrives so it's just a waiting game now!! Anyone else testing on Friday?

Kicking how late are you now? X

KickingUpQuestions · 15/05/2012 11:07

Pickled - if you don't ovulate, you do bleed but it's not TECHNICALLY an AF because it's not the lining of the womb and all that. My gynae said that you can tend to bleed for a bit longer though. You also aren't regular.

Maybe I had an anovulatory cycle last month? I just don't get why I wouldn't have ANY AF symptoms prior to AF but on day of AF and later, I am getting very tender boobs

Also - has anyone been pregnant before? My lady bits inside are very swollen and almost engorged. TMI coming up but I doubt I could use a tampon if AF did arrive. DH said the God of Google reckons it's a pg symptom - have had it for a while now. And no - we're not DTD (he is scared it will abort if there is anything up there) and I don't have any infections or any weird

KickingUpQuestions · 15/05/2012 11:08

Happily - today is day 3...

KickingUpQuestions · 15/05/2012 11:09

OH sorry Pickled :(
I am going to get the all out stuff for next cycle. Pre-seed and fertility kits and everything. DH is happy for that too :D

That sucks. I am thinking maybe I just ovulated later or something as well?
