How often do you SWI during fertile time?

Interested in hearing what others do. My partner and I used to do it every day during fertile window. This cycle I'm thinking of trying EOD as I've heard you can have too much sex.

Thanks!

Good luck everyone. x

3 times a DAY?! Good grief, you're a better woman than I! I think I've got cystitis from swi-ing almost every day for the last week or so!

backwardpossom · 23/03/2012 18:13

I share far too much on here...

rightupmyrue I ovulated at cd16 last cycle but it can change so was thinking of SWI from cd12-18 or maybe just keep going until I know I've ovulated when my temps rise for a good few days. Hopefully that will make sure we're doing it on the right days.

I find it so hard to know when to start and stop, I worry if we don't do it every day that I'll miss the egg

Every other day is fine. You do need to leave some time for the man to recover the sperm to get back to a higher count/better quality.
Have you tried to look at any vaginal discharge to give you an idea of when you are ovulating? Black knickers come to mind to avoid missing something.

chipsandmushypeas · 23/03/2012 22:34

Oh yes I'm a big fan of cm checking peppa Smile I know when ovulation is near plus i use opks.

I usually SWI everyday once the opk goes positive

Eod from about day 10 then every day for 3 days when I see a positive on opk

I just leapt from one bar yesterday on the Shag Dictator and thinking of gearing up to SWI, to three bars this morning. We skipped two bars altogether! Mad panic stations this morning. So romantic.

Reminds me of that Monty Python scene in The Holy Grail - "Winter decided to give Spring a miss and went straight to Summer."

I am in awe of the person who said three times a day. Blimey.

We aim for EOD/every day from the end of my period until a day or so after I am sure we have oved. And then just whenever we fancy it through the second part of the cycle (probably about twice a week).

dontcarehow · 26/03/2012 09:03

We currently aim for every day from day 12 til I get a positive OPK, then for a couple of days after that. But is it just me or does anyone else get quite painful after a few days, like its a bit bruised in there?

MissMedusa · 26/03/2012 09:50

In response to the OP: Not enough.

chipsandmushypeas · 27/03/2012 09:01

Sorry medusa is that due to pressure?

Well I'm definitely taking katandkits advice and not telling dp when I'm ovulating/opk goes positive. We had a talk as he was asking and I said I'm not telling you! And that we should make more effort to be intimate (and not just sex) more. He agreed.

I know once I get a positive opk I'll turn into a nutter though!

3 a day!!!Jeez Louise! I think I'd be walking like John Wayne! We're normally dtd a few times a week, for the past week it's been every day& I have to admit that by last night I felt like I'd taken a bit of a battering down there!last night tonight&then swapping to every other.it's been fun but I couldn't keep it up every day all month without 1) becoming sore 2) becoming bored. Think the expression 'too much of a good thing' would apply. That said, hats off to you! That takes a certain level of dedication&fitness!

MissMedusa · 28/03/2012 15:25

I think TTC kind of takes the fun and spontaneity out of DTD, so yes pressure probably does play a factor in it. My husband also broke his back last year which makes it more difficult. We've found ways to make it work but it's not so easy.
