Feeling pregnant - but tests say no - driving me mad!

Hi,

I know no one can help me, but wondering how likely it is I am pregnant when tests keep saying I'm not?

I'm still breastfeeding DD1 - but only a small feed 1st thing in morning. My periods came back about 2 months ago - but then I had several at only fortnightly intervals so not sure what's going on there! Only came off pill on 1st Jan - also had my last period start then.

I'm convinced I'm pregnant - feel nauseous, tired, irritable - and no period although I guess it may only be due about yesterday (if the 1st Jan period was a true one!) But I did a test that said would work 6 days before period due.

AAAhhhh - I just want to know. Perhaps I should forget about it and test again in a week!

Thanks for listening...

I'm probably just feeling pregnant because I want to be!

Is it even possible to have the nausea etc before the hormones have changed to give a positive test? Isn't it the hormones that cause the symptoms?

When I got pregnant with DS I had all the symptoms.. Period late, nausea, tummy pain.. All tests were negative. I even happened to go to a gynae for a regular check. She did an ultrasound and there was nothing. A few days later all tests turned positive! This is obviously my experience and your case may be different but it is possible that the tests take a little while longer to detect a pregnancy..

Yes the same for me (and this is my 5th and have never had it happen before) and am now 30 weeks or so along. I went on holiday and did another test two weeks later and bingo!

Thank you ladies - it could be then...!
Didn't have all this uncertainty with our 1st at all - we decided to start trying and all of a sudden I realised I was 2 weeks late. Did a test and it was positive, which we were not expecting at all. We'd not even being trying particularly hard! and expected it to take a while.
