hi guys,
been ttc for what feels like ages.... currently on clomid 100mg...(oh and provera to start things off) d12 scan today suggests its still not working (prog levels were only 2 last month?!?!). So pretty gutted today, the realisation that we will prob have to go on a waiting list for ivf (which will prob be around 18months) is still sinking in..... :(
been reading that some people have used acupuncture and chinese herbal medicines with good effect..but not sure i really trust this... any advice/info would be appreciated..
thanks :)

Hi, was just reading posts before going to do tea! remember seeing a blog on a website I use, pride Angel, about chinese medicine, (think there was also one on reflexology and accupuncture) I have included the link for you to the blog as it was a while a go but may be worth reading for information blogs.prideangel.com/post/2011/11/Chinese-medicine-could-double-chance-of-getting-pregnant.aspx Hope this helps. I think a lot of it is about how you feel and if it helps you mentally by thinking you are doing something to help then its worth looking into. I had accupuncture dont know if it helped but I tried it!! Good luck xx

hi there, I've had acu since my first miscarriage in June. Physically I'm not 100% it's helped I did get regain good health again afterwards but who knows how it would have gone without it. Mentally it's definately done me a lot of good. I did conceive again after 4 months (it took 5 months first time round) which I thought was pretty good as the mc was physically quite traumatic. Sadly I had another mc but am back going to acu every other week and it does help me stay positive. It's not for everyone but it did help me.

Be careful about Chinese herbal medicine- they sometimes have very potent ingredients and they aren't very well regulated.

I would say they can both have a significant effect on your system, so its important they are used in the right way. I think finding a practitioner you really trust is half of it. If you're interested in the theory behind it then Randine Lewis' the infertility cure is really interesting (RL is also medically qualified so gives a kind of dual explanation of everything that might prevent conception in both western medical terms and also traditional chinese medicine philosophy, along with recommendations for treatment). I've been using both and since using them my cycle length has shortened, ovulation is earlier, loads more EWCM, less brown and clotty blood, healthier looking blood flow - its all seemed positive steps in the right direction for me. It does take a lot of patience and tweaking things though. And no bfp just yet.
