Have you ever experience light bleeding/period type bleeding and still ended up being pregnant.

I've had lots of pregnancy type symptoms over the past 5 or so days.
I have two children already and didn't experience any symptoms very early on with them. Well ds1 weeing lots and tender breasts but I was further along.

Anyhow I had some pink discharge with a little blood when wiping then nothing. then a few hours later some more blood when wiping still not much though. Still put on a panty liner and there was only a little. Then had a panty liner on over night (hopefully thinking it was implantation bleeding so wouldn't get heavier) and normally on my first day of a period I have a very heavy flow and clots but it was light but still enough to fill a panty liner. Yesterday and today I have used a tampon but flow is so light compared to normal. TMI alert sorry tampons normally fall out when I wee because my flow is so heavy none of that going on.

That along with other symptoms such as sickness, cramping on one side, then lower cramps (haven't had bad cramps when af arrives post dc2) headaches, tender breasts have made me wonder if I still could be pregnant.
I know it's a waiting game and will test tomorrow as that will be about 3 days from the pink spotting.

But in the time being can anyone tell me if they have had bleeding and been pregnant. Don't worry I wont get my hopes up just need to pass the time until tomorrow!

From what I read on MN, I think spotting when AF is due but no proper period is quite common in pregnancy? :)

I bled quite a bit before finding out I was pregnant (and quite a bit after finding out I was pregnant) and DS was absolutely fine - so you definitely could be pregnant.

Thankyou not sure if what I have counts as spotting it's more like the last few days rather than the start of a period. Just much lighter and took longer to actually start.

Thanks flaming toaster. Did you feel pregnant in any way before idicating you may be pregnant? Or did it take you a while to test because you just thought you were having a period/ had a period.

I had v similar to you - I had a short/light period but still had what I thought were PMT symptoms- sore boobs etc.

I didn't test until 4 or 5 weeks later when I missed the next period

DS was born 9 months later :) I also had a lot of bleeding & cramping at 14-15 weeks.

Sorry to put a damper on things but I had very similar this last month. Just as you describe a few days of pink on wiping which then developed into light spotting, not enough to really need to use a tampon. Very unusual for me too, this went on for a couple of days. I was convinced I was preggers, had low cramping too, but every test I have done has been BFN. So I have counted the first day of spotting as AF of my current cycle.

I had been told I was so unlikely to get pregnant contraception was a waste of time so didn't think I was pregnant at all! It was only when I was supposed to be having a GA to have wisdom teeth out they asked were my cycles regular - and I said they were a bit messed up but that was probably worry about the extractions - that they insisted on a pregnancy test. I was seven and a half weeks and assumed sore boobs etc. was just messed up hormones.

What an amazing surprise that must have been!

I had spotting (I had always spotted up to 2 weeks before AF) and light brown bleeding and was pregnant. I kept thinking AF would arrive any day but the full 'flow' never properly arrived so I eventually tested. Had sore boobs too, as in the same way I would get for pmt. FX for you! :)

Still BFN, but still don't feel quite right though!

Well just updating i've started bleeding again on CD 16 and 17 not sure if this is related or just ovulation bleeding (never experienced this before) still negative HPT.

Hi stars I've got a similar problem - brown 'spotting' started the day before AF due so wondered what was going on, & that was Friday. POAS yesterday, a superdrug 1 that I'm led to believe is v sensitive & left it for longer than 3 mins just in case but its a v def BFN. Still no proper AF.

This is a v unusual situation for me (I know other people have it every month, as discussed on other threads here) and have only ever had it once before, when we had an 'accident' & wondered if I could be pregnant etc. AF arrived a couple of days later in that case though, & a test was also BFN.

I've not really had the consistent symptoms I had with my DD (super sore boobs, sickness, peeing, off tea, etc) but by the time I was certain what those symptoms meant, AF was already a week or so late, so the BFP wasn't a surprise, & this time it could be different. I have had bits of tiredness, sickness, boon tenderness etc but they could be explained by other things too, so I'm none the wiser!

So, like you stars I'm v confused & thinking I'll just have to play the waiting game. Either AF will show up with vengeance soon enough or other pregnancy symptoms will appear. Am not very patient at times, so not sure I can wait!!! I think I'll just assume this spotting is AF in disguise & then I won't get my hopes up.
