Fed up of illness and BF messing with my cycle..

Bit of a rant really...

Stopped bf two months ago after 18m (with no AF). O-d almost exactly 14 days later (cue me feeling very smug). 10 days later got the most pathetic of periods ever - about 4 drops in total....

This cycle I've had stomach flu and a cold, so my temps (am charting) are totally screwy. Have just about got O showing on my chart, but almost half of my temps are either stupidly high (98.6 - 100.4) or scarily low (96.6 for a post-o temp anyone?!) because of this... To the extent that FF is questioning whether I'm not still gearing up to O.. Am dreading next week when AF is currently due: last month I spent days going to the loo every hour or so expecting to have come on, but nothing, which is really upsetting me - I just want things working properly again.

Am just fed up of everyone else having seemingly normal cycles (seriously - the tampon aisle in Tesco's seems like some sort of forbidden kingdom to me, since I have no idea when I'll need to use it again), and me not knowing what's normal anymore, or what's going on. I know two months is nothing, but we want to TTC#2 come March, which feels very soon to get things moving in some sort of predictable form again..

Rant over.

Try not too worry, it's still very early days. I didn't ovulate for the first three months n now 7 months on my cycles aren't as regular as I would like, although I do now ovulate every month! Yaay!! trying to concieve can be a long and stressful journey, so try not to worry for the next few months, stressing out can effect your periods also! Good luck x

What were your cycles like before?

Thanks - didn't think I'd get any replies!

I know: it's just so frustrating when you read of women who get pregnant despite breastfeeding, using condoms and only having sex once a year.. I should be grateful really that my body's at least trying to get there...

Cycles before going on the pill were like clockwork: not only to the day but almost to the hour... On the pill for 8 years. Came off it nothing happened for 6 months. Then got four (think ovulatory) periods (becoming increasingly regular), and then got pregnant first attempt :) So really, I have nothing to worry about: I have no apparent fertility problems. I'm also not even 30 yet so I have years of baby making left in me.

Just fed up of waiting for my body to catch up with my head...

Its so frustrating isn't it! Out of all my 14 'baby' friends and acquaintances, they all have a 2nd (well 1 had twins!) now, 2 got pregnant whilst BFing and 1 the day after her period when her DS was only 5 months! So I'm the only person who is having trouble having a 2nd. I just stopped BFing after 3 years in case it helps me conceive, but I've been having regular periods since DS was 3 or 4 months, so not sure it really will do anything. I also got pregnant 1st attempt with DS (after 6 months of charting and very irregular periods after coming off the pill) so whats going on now?

I just had a '21 day' blood test today (dr referred me for that and an internal scan) so it'll be interesting to see if that shows anything. :(

'Just fed up of waiting for my body to catch up with my head...'

Oh and yes, completely! DH wanted a 2nd a couple of years ago, but I 'wasn't ready' - now I am but my body thinks otherwise! Grrrr!
