any IVFers out there?

Just on my day 16 of Synarel - am now having the side effects big time - mood swings, crying,bloatedness etc. Can't rermember it being this bad last time (have ds through IVf 3 years ago). Anyone else going through it too and want a cycle buddy?

I am on day 6 of synarel and finding that the side effects are kicking in as well.

This is my second IVF - first ended in a m/c at 10 weeks in August so all we can do is hope and pray that it works this time for us and that I can hold onto the pg.

I am due to start stimming on the 7th January, scan on the 17th and hopefully EC on 19th and ET on 22nd, so that pretty much takes care of January!!

Wendy - the very best of luck - IVF is very draining and to get pregnant and then lose the baby - jeez that is tough. I really really hope that 2006 brings you joy and happiness and a baby/babies

I am due to attend hospital on 3.1.06 for my day 0 scan with e/c w/c 16.1.06. However it tok me a week longer last time to respond to the drugs so it may be happening the same week as you

Yes please keep in touch - I do feel as though I am looking at the world through a vey thick piece of glass when I am going through IVF - I can see everything but it's all a bit remote IYSWIM

I seem to be on an emotional rollercoaster at the moment. The least thing sets me off crying or snapping the head off dh.

Good Luck for your scan on the 3rd January. I don't get a scan until day 10 of stimms to see how I am responding. There is a long time from starting sniffing until day 10 when you have no idea what is happening but I suppose every clinic is different with their protocol. What does your Day 0 scan tell you?

Hello angelfire and a Happy New Year to you.

I hope all your hopes and dreams come true in 2006.

I have developed a rotten cold. Got up yesterday morning with a sore throat and things have just gone from bad to worse. Horrible trying to take synarel and stop snezzing and wanting to blow my nose for long enough to actually let the stuff absorb. I continue to take the synarel until after my last peurgon injection so probably have to keep going until around the 17th January. Start injections on Saturday - DH hates this bit as he does my injections every morning before going to work, but they don't really hurt that much.

Good luck for your scan on Tuesday and I hope all is ready for you to start stimming. Please let me know how you get on.

The scan was fine - I have down regged successfully so can now start stimming tomorrow with my next appt a week Friday.
Funnily enough the awful headaches just stopped yesterday

That is great news. At lest now you can start stimming - I feel as if I am actually doing something when I get to that stage. What drug are you using to stim. I am on puregon - 200IU for 6 days, 150IU for 2 days and 100IU for 2 days and then a scan to see how things are going.

I am stimming with menopur - 2 injections down and 8 to go - my hubbie prepares all the injections - I really hate needles - I have to look away and breathe deeeply when they go in! I was on Puregon when I got pg with ds.
Are you doing anything else? I am doing acupuncture - I just want to try everything to up the odds. Good luck for Saturday

I like the way you say only 8 more to go - if you say it really quicky it doesn't sound too bad Do you have a scan towards the end of next week to see how the follies are developing?

I am also going to acupuncture. I really believe that it helped me to get pg on my last cycle even though the pg didn't stick in the end. I am also trying to take whey protein. I have read on another site that it can help to improve egg quality, but it does taste vile. I am a bit like you I would try anything to help this cycle along. Which acupuncture points do yo have needles placed in. I have them on the inside of my ankles, the outside of me leg below the knee, my wrists, one in my tummy just below the belly button, on top of me head and along the hairline.

How are you? Thought of you on Sat as I know that you started stimming that day. I am now 1/2 way though and have started feeling REALLY bloated - my stomach is HUGE (it was a bit sticky out to start with but this is ridiculous. I am taking it that this is a good sign. Feeling alternativley mellow and excited.

Really good to hear from you. Sorry you are feeling so bloated but that has to be a good sign that there are lots of follicles developing in there. I have had my fourth injuection today but I really don't feel much happening yet. I suppose it is still a little early. Hopefully I will feel something more soon. When is your scan to see how things are going? Have you any idea when EC may be? Keep positive and let me know how you are getting on.

angelfire, just wanted to wish you good luck, i remember you adding your message on my iui thread and telling me that you were going to start ivf, but that was way back in february, you wrote that you were going to start in May and then in September, so i did a search and found this thread

Harrizeb - thank you so much for thinking about me. Scan has gone well and I am going for egg collection on Thursday at 10.30, so that is another hurdle over and onto the next one.

angelfire - how are things going with you. Have you had EC/ET yet. I hope you are doing OK and that all is well with you. Let me know how you are when you get a chance.

wendy good luck for thursday, do you know how many eggs they will collect or does that depend how many have grown the right size on day of egg collection?

Harrizeb, Bella and Bubbly - thank you for thinking about me.

I have to wait until egg collection to see how many are mature enough for colection. More waiting but according to the scan I have 3/4 on each ovary all about 19mm.

Looking forward to egg collection - if that is possible but dreading the phone call on Friday morning to see how many have fertilised. Just have to keep praying that this time will be the one for us.
