Positive pregnancy test then the line disappeared

I've been trying to get pregnant for a few months now. My period was due today so I took a pregnancy test which says it can be used from 3 days before your period is due. On previous tests over the last few months it has been clearly negative. You can watch a slightly pink saturation line travel along the window revealing the first line and normally it travels to the end and a second line doesn't appear within the five minutes so therefore I can see the test is negative. Today I watched the saturation line travel along the window to reveal the first line and then it travelled along to the end. I was watching the window when suddenly a very faint second line began to appear. This was almost right away! I couldn't believe it. It was much lighter than the other line but it was definitely there and stayed like that for another few minutes and then it started to fade away and after about ten minutes it had completely disappeared. When I tested positive with my first baby the pregnancy test was very clear and the second line very visible. Today when I did the test I didn't use the first morning urine but instead did the test around mid morning after I had been drinking coffee. Do you think I could be pregnant? Is it possible that a positive line could just disappear?

I am on sprintec (birth control pills). My period is late by 5 days. I took three test last night. 1 was positive the line faded a lot though? 1 was negative, the other was defective. I took two this morning. They were both negative.. should I continue taking my birth control or should I wait and retest..?

Hi I have just done a test and their was a faint line on a. Clear blue test ? But when I did another one it was negative what does this mean

This happened to me also, i dont the early test one and got a positive but really faint, and then i tried another and it was negative, they werent early response tho x

I took this today with first morning urine this was took 1 minute after I had dipped then when I went back 10 minutes later the line was gone, would you say this is positive xxx

Hi everyone really need some advice took some hpt and I’m not if they are evap or if it’s just extremely faint positive I’m due to have period in a week feeling tired and slight cramping but not like a pms cramp

If it's more than one it sounds promising ... are the lines disappearing? My line that vanished turned out to be due to a chemical pregnancy unfortunately but I got pregnant the next month and am now 35+3 so don't be too disheartened if it is 😊 xxxxx

Hi,
My period is due tomorrow and I bought first response pregnancy test. There is 2 line and one is faint. I did the test like 45 mins ago and lines are still there. Is this positive?

Thank you. I am so confused tho :( i went to my friends house tonight and did the boots test and it was negative and i had a small bleeding.. i will do the 2nd test that i have - first response- tomorrow and see what it shows. Is boots test as reliable as first response? :((

The First Response Early Result tests can show a positive up to 5 days before your period is due.

I don't think Boots ones are as sensitive as that. Your best bet is to use a FRER with first morning urine to know one way or another.

I am just wondering if anyone has found out a definite positive because this just happened to me yesterday morning. Was 16 days after conception and My periods are all wonky so I can't rely on them. Took test at 6:30 in the morning with a clearly visible faint second line but when I went to show my husband an hour later it was almost completely gone. Should I assume Neg? or test again in a week?

@SierraS2508 did yours turn out positive? I just took one tonight, I’m 5 days away from my period. Been nauseous all night and took a test. Line was there and I went to get another test from the cabinet and came back it was gone. I saw it and it took me about 5 minutes to finally reach the test and come back to the first one. What should I do?

I have been feeling weird lately so decided to do a pregnancy test (I don't usually have periods so don't know if i have missed one - due to contraception)
I did a poundland preg test and it came up positive straight away so did another and it was positive again so did another which was positive but by the time I did the third the first one had disappeared and was now negative. The line was very much there not faint.
I then bought a clear blue one later in the day and it said negative. Am I pregnant or not? Any comments would be great help.

Ladies, i experienced the changing from positive to negative, or the other way around too. When i mentioned it to the GP, she did a blood test, confirmed i wasnt pregnant, and said that sometimes it's the test kit playing games (evap lines, bad batches etc) and sometimes it could be that some hormones or proteins in my body caused the test material to react.
Anyway, if you're unsure, buy a digital test or see a GP. Good luck!

I have the same thing! The test line is more of a patch but thicker than the C line. Did you turn out to be pregnant?

So I took this test and I understand it’s smudged but I’ve been told a line is a line and there is colour to it I just need some advice

id say its positive. the test lines do and can change over time. ive taken sooo many in the past, trying to conceive(was also on clomid). id go with the results within the window it states to read the test. i have had lines disappear and appear after the window time and they havent not been accurate to weather i was pregnant.

same thing happened to me... cheap strip test... I clearly saw the first line forming and then it slowly faded away as the second line was getting thicker and darker...
