BFP at weekend, but still only getting faint line 4 days later

I suppose I'm looking for some reassurance. I POAS Sat and Sun with FMU and got a faint BFP both times, with Sunday's result appearing more quickly than Saturday's. I POAS again today expecting to see a darker line, appearing more quickly and got pretty much the same result as on Sunday (faint line, took 2 min to appear). I estimate that I'm 4.5 to 5 weeks pregnant based on when I think I ovulated.

Just been to dr today and had blood taken to measure HCG concentration, but wondered if anyone had any advice while I await the results?

I am a bit worried because I've had 2 MMC (one quite recently, but the dr did not think it was likely that the HCG detected by my HPT would be from that because I had an ERPC 7 wk ago). My first MMC was in 2008 and I've also got a healthy DD, aged 20 months.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Ah cola any more news? Can I whisper congratulations, just in case?

I did do my digi on Friday, and yes, got a BFP. I am so excited! Then we went off for a 4 day camping trip - not the best timing ever! I am still shivering and have only just dried out!

Keeping my fingers crossed that your levels are going up

Ah that's great news Blue. Congratulations!

I went for my 2nd blood test today, so will know more on Friday. I am keeping my hopes low and thinking the hormone was most likely detected from my last MC or from a brand new MC (oh the joys!). I don't particularly feel pregnant and last week the dr said my hCG was lower than she would expect for a successful pregnancy. We'll see.

Shame it was a wet weekend, but I do enjoy camping! We are going soon but don't know what my DD (20 months) will make of it!

Hi GDC sorry your results haven't been more reassuring. I really hope things turn out well for you but I wanted to say a little about my own experience of post erpc testing..

I had an erpc in Jan after a MMC. 5 weeks later I just knew something wasn't right and I took a pg test which came up positive. I knew it could not be a new pregnancy so I asked the gp to test my blood for HcG. It came back as nearly 300 and an emergency fanjocam showed that the erpc had failed.

If your levels don't look right for a new pregnancy do ask for a scan just to be on the safe side. The risk of an erpc failing is only 1% but it can happen.

I'm almost certain this won't be the case for you but didn't want to not say anything just incase IYSWIM.

Fingers crossed for good news for you Smile

Hi Mouse and thank you for your message. This has been on my mind too, so if the hCG is still raised from the blood test I had done today, I will request a scan to see what is going on.

Did you have another ERPC? Hope all is well with you now and you have a healthy baby one day soon.

Yes I had another ERPC and a shed load of antibiotics! They just couldn't believe how much stuff was still in there. My AF arrived yesterday - 78 days post erpc#2. Do pushed to have it checked out, I'd probably still be waiting around if I hadn't taken things into my own hands Smile

GenericDietCola · 01/06/2011 20:55

Oh no you poor thing, sounds terrible. At least if AF has come you know you're getting back to normal. Hope you feel better soon.

I got my blood test results today and they are a bit lower than last week, so the dr thinks I may have had another MC, but at a very early stage. Still no bleeding though, so she is sending me for an ultrasound scan to check the womb lining. I also expressed concern that I should be checked for retained 'product' from my last MC.

Not the news I'd hoped for, but at least I am being looked at. Hoping my cycles come back soon so I can start TTC again.

Best wishes to anyone in a similarly frustrating situation.

Oh I'm sorry cola, that's sad news. I hope your scan happens quickly and that then you can look forward to TTC. Take care of yourself x

GenericDietCola · 15/06/2011 12:52

The scan showed there are still retained products so thanks to mouse for your advice. Looks like I need another ERPC. Not nice, but I'm so glad I had the scan and can hopefully get this sorted soon and ttc again.

How are things with you blue?
