Ok I need someone to tell me straight!

I'm 37, i'll be 38 in Dec, I've never had a baby or fallen pregnant. OH has never made anyone pregnant.

OH and I have been trying alot (we pretty much have s every day for the last three months (i know this isn't a long time). I feel it in my bones that we will have trouble falling pregnant (my mum had me in her 20's and then tried for 8 years before falling for my little brother in her 30s).

I've just been looking at IVF on the NHS website and it says it works for 16% of people over 38 (which I will be if we try that route) - 16%!!!!

Also I always wanted a big family 3 or 4, I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen, but I'd love at least 2...

I sort of feel like i'm living in a dream world and i'm never going to be a mummy. I feel really really emotional tonight, I'm only DPO3 so not hormonal Hmm

Here is my chart for the last month and this cycle in case that's helpful Sad

Morning!

By the time I go to my GP we will have been actively trying for over 6 months, I suspect that we would go privately for treatment anyway, so wouldn't be queue jumping.

I definitely was panicking last night but feel much calmer today, I will get one or both of the books you lovely ladies recommend, and have already told OH that i'm not drinking alcohol whilst we are trying.

I am really tempted to get the expensive clear blue ov kit as FF isn't sure if I ov'd on the 13th or 15th this month, which won't matter too much to timings as we were SWI'ing then anyway.

Umm, it's amazing how quickly this can all get stressful isn't it.

I've been broody for way over 7years, and OH and I really are only now in a position to try, I guess we all think it's something that will happen easily for us isn't it, although as I said in an earlier post, in my heart of hearts I feel like this won't happen for us... anyway what will be will be ((hugs)) xx

I'd get the ovulation sticks if i were you. They're not expensive compared to ivf, or even a bottle of wine! which you'll be saving on as you're not drinking.

good luck

a friend of a friend had her first (naturally) at 44!

voiture Hot baths? My OH has 2 Hot baths a day (he is a bit obsessed Smile) could this be an issue?

valium yes you are right, have emailed Amazon, so hopefully they will sort out my account and I can order the books and the ov sticks.

Karbea the hot baths might not be helping and could be harming; sperm needs to stay cool. Could he switch to showers?

When you see your GP they'll suggest that your OH is tested too and he definitely should be. He won't relish the idea, but it's really important, both medically and emotional, that you look at your fertility as a couple, not just as you, the woman, not getting pregnant.
