I've got myself all excited and need to talk myself down!!!!! Got what appears to be a bfp this morning, feint, but got darker now, and have had a shed load of symptoms for a week, so I expected it really. Would really like to do another test in the morning to be sure, as am seeing dp for the first time in 3 weeks tomorrow, but I want to tell him now!!!! I also want him to be able to get over the shock slightly before I do see him Grin. What do I do, quick, before he Skypes me!!! Grin

Tell him in person so you can see his face. Congratulations, btw.

biglips · 02/12/2010 18:50

biglips · 02/12/2010 18:52

Biobytes · 02/12/2010 18:57

No, don't get over the shock before telling him. It is sooo nice to be in shock together about these things :)

Tell him tomorrow, really, and make up you are so happy tonight because you are very happy you are going to see him tomorrow, can you organise something special? like going out, or having sometime on your own as soon as he arrives?

raspberrytipple · 02/12/2010 18:58

tell him in person! then come straight on here and tell what his reaction is Xmas Grin

Darnthetum · 02/12/2010 18:58

Argh, its going to be so hard not to tell him tonight, I feel so, devious!! I'm going to have to say "Hi, bye, see you tomorrow!!" Any more than that and it will tumble out like a tumble weed!!! Xmas Grin (oooh I love these Santa grins!)

Phew, he seems to be confused re-heating a curry or some other man food! He really isn't expecting this by the way. We are not meant to be having children for a long time (well, 2 years!) and we are getting married next year, all the wrong way round! Aaaah, the grin won't come off my face, argh!!!!!! I am really worried he will feint/throw up on me/do mass swearing!

Congrats! And DEF tell him in person tomorrow!

Darnthetum · 02/12/2010 19:09

Ok, I want planning advice! I will have been up since 5am with dd (7), as we are flying back to the UK and she is going to her dad's for the weekend, and dp and I are having a romantic weekend in Manchester Grin. So, 5am start, 9am (hopefully) flight, 45 min coach journey and 45 min train journey, then voila, I meet the dp. Do I tell him at the train station, while I am green in the face over lunch, or at the gig later on? He will need to know why I don't want to go to the front, as they are my favourite band! Am really worried he won't let me go for safety reasons (which is nasty of me, I know, but we have had the tickets booked for over 9 months and I have been so looking forward to it!).

Dd was a HUGE surprise, as I wasn't with her dad at the time, so this is my first proper "you are a daddy!!!". I want to get it right (and am going to drag you all in on it with me! Grin!)

I would go with lunchtime - I'm sure the gig can't be that dangerous!? Unless it's alligator wrestling or something Grin He might need to sit down, have a drink or something so hence lunchtime! Also, there'll be loads of people about at the train station so not ideal for a grand announcement! However I have never been pg so no idea what other people who actually have experience think.....

Good luck whatever you decide, enjoy your day!

Arabella36 · 02/12/2010 20:45

You could hand him a clearblue test with
"1-2 weeks pregnant" on it!!!!

Congratulations!!

Darnthetum · 02/12/2010 21:31

Wow it is hard not to tell him!!! Wow wow wow!!! Grin

Did you hold out? Good luck today with telling him!!

monkeyfacegrace · 03/12/2010 08:16

Marking place

TerrysNo2 · 03/12/2010 08:47

Excited to hear his reaction!

Congratulations!! Grin

sparklyjewlz · 03/12/2010 10:22

Looking forward to updates! Xmas Smile

Arabella36 · 03/12/2010 10:25

Have you told him yet?!!!
Exciting!!!

Darnthetum · 05/12/2010 22:30

Boo the updates, super boo! He was mega excited GrinGrinGrin, I took another test with him outside the door and it was negative, and another today and it was negative Sad, both of them being first response ones. It turns out it must have been a fluke. No AF yet though, so am still holding out tinsy tiny hope, but all the symtoms seem to be on the decrease. Grrr. But all the same, at least he was excited!!! He even looked into getting me a "baby on board" sign for the tube!! Grin

Oh no, how crushingly disappointing after all the buildup and waiting. You must be gutted. As you say there's still a chance you are pg, and great news that your OH was so keen x

Arabella36 · 06/12/2010 07:21

Sorry Darnthetum

Darnthetum · 06/12/2010 09:16

Exactly Amanda, am looking to the positives. And many many friends having babies in the next few weeks, so have plenty of chance to coo. Dp has got all excited in the "in two years time" vein, and is planning and researching all over the place, so he is a happy man, and I am a happy lady knowing that he is happy, although I am wishing I hadn't justified stuffing myself with all that choc now, as I'll have to get it all back off again now! Grin

I suppose in a way it's a bit of a blessing to have the opportunity to find out exactly how you'd both feel before you go ahead.

raspberrytipple · 07/12/2010 07:18

Sorry to hear your news darnthetum, but as you have said it's good that DP was so excited, they are lovely when they get on board an start doing their own research, I'm not even pg yet and dp came out with some research he found on not washing babies too often as you wash their natural oils away and dry their skin out! God knows what he had been looking at but it was very sweet to think he'd been looking at baby sites! Good luck ttc whenever you officially start!! Xx

Darnthetum · 07/12/2010 15:43

Exactly, all positive. AF still hasn't arrived though, which is prolonging the hope. Gah, I wish I wasn't hoping so much but I just can't help it!!!

OP posts:
Darnthetum · 08/12/2010 19:47

Don't know if anyone is still on this but the wait continues!

I stopped the pill on Sun as am not seeing DP for another 2.5 weeks now, and I just needed an AF to back up the negatives, I can't let go of the niggles otherwise Hmm, but nothing has come.

Still mild nausea, leaking nips and my boobs feel weird, not sore, but expandy-esqyu despite no visible difference, sore solid abdomen and back, and crazy crazy amounts of grease production, but all these could be from coming off the pill. Had a neg result on Mon, but dare not test again for a good few weeks.

Am so crazily desperate for a baby now, and dp won't agree for a good while yet. Am worried I am going to turn into a crazy witch woman that hates children and parents of children! 3 friends have had babies this week, and I've cried at all the pictures, feigning cuteness/joy Blush. I have become officially barmy! Shock How do I get out of the funk?
