Implant removed 27th October - when can I expect my period so we can ttc????

Could anybody that has had the contraceptive implant please share their experience of how long it took for them to have a period after removal??

We are now ttc for the first time and my doctor said that fertility should return pretty much immediately, and that the fact that I had a withdrawal bleed was a good sign. No doubt I am just being ridiculously impatient here, but I thought I would have had a period by now as last official implant one started on the 18th of October...

Have been trying to google this and am now very slightly alarmed having found forums where people are saying that it took them months and months to have a period again! Any and all implant ttc experiences would be most appreciated as I quietly drive myself mad

p.s. Took a pregnancy test this morning just in case but bfn.

I had the implant for nearly 5 years, with no bleeds during that time. Took 10 weeks for me to have a bleed properly with a few days spotting during those weeks.

I read all those forums too and stressed myself out completely. Wish I hadn't read them as it didn't help.

Hello :) I had my implant out last november - got my withdrawl bleed about 2 weeks after, then got a proper period in January, and got pregnant in January too :) Don't worry about all the forums - everyone is different :) good luck xxx

Thanks guys, much appreciated! Amazing how you can go from never giving contraception/fertility/basic female biology a second thought to becoming an obsessive symptom spotter and internet trawler all in the space of a couple of weeks... ho hum. Had the implant in for 6 years (well, 2 implants) with no problems and more or less regular periods so never had cause for concern before.

And definitely staying off those forums in the future - totally freaked myself out! Don't have any real life friends that have used the implant, so no checks there either - could have been a slippery slope...
