Am going to Asda to do the shopping this morning...i will have an overwhelming urge to put a clearblue in my trolley. Just tell me the reasons again for NOT doing this...

Are they really rubbish?
Im due af on Tuesday BUT am desperate to know.
Just list the reasons so that i can imprint them on my brain while doing the shopping..

They are VERY expensive and if it's not + then you will just have peed on £10.

Secondtimelucky · 03/10/2010 09:27

Because all they ever tell you is 'maybe, maybe not'.

I did a test three days early this cycle. Twas stupid. Really really faint line. Obsessed about it. Two days after I was due, I did a test. Lovely bright line (though recently had a miscarriage, so not counting my chickens).

If you have it in the house, you'll use it...

ShowOfHands · 03/10/2010 09:28

They're expensive and not the best for early testing anyway.

If you want to test early, order some cheap tests from ebay/amazon. Something like 10 for £2.50 iirc and they're v sensitive. Otherwise, wait until you're late.

laloony · 03/10/2010 09:30

thats good...peeing on £10 like it like it,
more....

clear blues tell you "pregnant" or "Not pregnant" they are clear as day tho secondtime. they even tell you how many aprox weeks and you can do them a week before af is due.....so not a strong argument, i need concrete slap round the chops with a wet fish type saying "you daft bint....forgedit & get outa ma pub" type reasons...

my local cheap shop does 2 tests for a pound! they r fab found out i was pregnant with all 3 dc, get some cheapy ones if ya want to do early testing as then you can do it everyday if ya must!

Secondtimelucky · 03/10/2010 09:35

Oh, clearblue digital ones. Because they cost an absolute bloody fortune and, if you wait until you are overdue, you can use a nice cheapy one from Superdrug (assuming you are not organised enough to shop online) and spend the balance on a coffee and a muffin?

laloony · 03/10/2010 09:39

LOVE IT!! Coffee and muffin..now that has DEFO swung it SmileGrin
ta secondhand....you star Smile

heheh "secondtime" meant...was getting all excited about the muffin talk!

Secondtimelucky · 03/10/2010 09:40

As you can see, I am highly motivated by 'sweet treats'. Glad the same argument helps you!

ShowOfHands · 03/10/2010 09:41

But you only need to search on here to see that they're not that sensitive actually and their conception indicator is wildly inaccurate (and causes a lot of heartache).

They're a bloody awful invention ime. Desperate women spending a fortune because cb promise you clear and concise results when often they're anything but.

laloony · 03/10/2010 09:42

i AM desperate but realy dont want to be. Feel that muffins will sooth me in this instance...

Gutted, was absolutely convinced.
Now need to go to Docs as every month i have the most awfully sore painful boobs. Only since my last mc last December. Cant be right as its always been one of the first symptoms of preganancy for me.

Sigh Sad

Wish I'd read this an hour ago before I peeded pointlessly on a clearblue! Tried sitting on hands etc but just could NOT stay out of that bathroom!
Plus side with the digital one is I can't "imagine" there is a faint line etc as words are quite clear even to me!
(Hasn't stopped me thinking I'm pg though, a few more days to go..)
Lalooney you know you might still get your result you know fingers crossed.

laloony · 03/10/2010 16:16

No, for me thats that. All hope gone. Im not pregnant end of for this month anyway.
5 more to go as that is when we are stopping trying.

Sorry lalooney. Hope isn't much of a friend sometimes is it? I too have a time limit. Hope have strength to stick to it! But all it takes is one good month I suppose.
