11 days of spotting

Hi,

We have been trying to conceive for 2 months, and this month, I have had spotting (brown, pink and red) for 11 days. It started 7 days before I was due my period - I have never experienced this before. I have also taken a pregnancy test on the day I was due my period and it was negative.

I went to see my dr who has ordered some hormone tests. I just wanted to know if others have experienced the same thing and what happened.

emmiegirl have you been on any contraception prior to TTC? I came off the contraception couple of months ago, first period ok, the next one I brown-spotted since mid-cycle and ended up being 5 days late. I kept testing and testing meanwhile, all BFN until AF finally showed up (and it was a bad one) Sometimes it takes time after coming off the pill for hormones to regulate

Hi HugryElephant, I stopped taking the pill early May - I was only on it for 3 months so I would have thought it would all be out my system now.

Hi emmiegirl, I'm 27 weeks preg and spotted for 9 days with my BFP. The cycle before my BFP I started spotting pink/red a week before AF was due - had never started spotting that early before or that colour. I was sure I was pregnant because it was so weird for me. For the last couple of years I had spotting every month for at least 4 days before AF was due and saw my GP who didn't seem concerned. I got pregnant the first month of properly 'trying' so it can't have been anything bad. By the way I'm sure it was preseed that helped me get a BFP so quickly. Hope you ladies all get your BFP soon!
