TTC for June 2011 baby - anyone else?

DH and I are TTC no 2 but getting a little depressed at the lack of success so far. Thought a thread on here might help by chatting with others in a similiar situation as obviously not something we are shouting about in RL.

We have DS (2yrs 3 mths) and have been TTC since the start of the year. Last couple of months I have used OPKs and had convinced myself I was pregnant last month , but just a strange long cycle.

Anyone else fancy cheering each other up along the way of TTC?

Hi all, newbie here. This is our first month of ttc no:2, af was due on 25th and so far still not here but have had 2 negative tests before af due. I did a test on 25th and there was a very faint line but didn't show up straight away, was after about 8 mins. Waited until this morning to do another and similar line again after about 6 mins. These are tesco hpt and have one clear blue digital which I am saving until Wed (don't want to waste it).

I am never late and always have a cycle of 30-31days. So not sure what is going on. I have had period type pains which I remember having when I was preg with DD but I have strong positive hpt by af due date. Oh I don't know, guess I'll just have to keep waiting. Just feels better to put this down in words. Good luck all xx

Good luck Lola - fingers crossed for you. All sounds hopeful.
How is everyone else today? I am feeling knackered after a packed weekend and trying not to think - mmm perhaps it is because I am pregnant. Think it is related to lack of sleep instead.

I sympathise, patchwork, I always feel a pang of envy when I hear about a pregnancy.
sounds very promising lola, good luck, are you testing again tomorrow?
jigglebum - any other symptoms? where are you on the 2ww?
I'm afraid this month wasn't our finest in terms of effort.. Temps a bit all over the place so not sure when I ovulated (didn't bother with opks). Think I just got a bit fed up with the whole thing and ran out of enthusiasm.
Anyway, bought Angus castus, B vit complex and more folic acid so will do better next month!

patchworkquilt · 29/09/2010 07:20

Thanks gettingonmynerve. I feel a bit better and more excited for my sister with each day.

Good luck today Lola - looking forward to hopefully hearing some good news.

Cramps have gone for me, so not sure what that means. Another week before I test.

jigglebum · 29/09/2010 16:02

aStill feeling knackered and flu like but I think it might just be that - flu. Although I have convinced myself I am pregnant of course as I felt really rough for first few weeks with my DS. I do have some odd stomach feelings and at times my breasts feel tender - but could all be psychosymatic (sp?) I am 8dpo so will hold off until at least the weekend to test.

It is hard to work up the enthusiasm to SWI just at the right time isn't it. Takes all the fun and romance out of it and hard on the blokes too I think - although sex on demand sounds great, it never really is! I am always worried we will argue about something at the time when we need to be SWIing and then it won't happen.

Lola - any more news? Patchwork - how many dpo are you ?

patchworkquilt · 29/09/2010 20:07

jigglebum that is a good question, my OPK showed a smiley face on CD 14 - it says I should ovulate within 24-48 from that, so I am not sure how I accurately calculate DPO. Do you? If I count from CD15 onwards I am 8DPO too. I was going to wait until early next week to test - AF due today week.

Cramping a bit tonight too.

Yes, I avoid arguments more so around ovulation, secretly. It is tough, no matter how you cut it - with each month that passes.

By the way - we have started SWI in the mornings, instead of the night - before the little one wakes (apparently it is a better time for the swimmers - anyone else tried that?) AND I have been making my OH take Zinc tablets. Literally I have to hand them to him or he would forget. He is pretty good about it all, think he is afraid I will have a massive meltdown if he doesn't just go along with it all.

gettingonmyownnerves · 29/09/2010 20:18

I hadn't known that about the mornings, might have to try it, although I'm not sure how dh would feel about an early alarm call!
It's impossible to avoid symptom spotting, I think - tender boobs sound promising though.
I have been known to jiggle mine to check for tenderness - not a great idea when you work in an open plan office!
These days I am getting spotting from about 8DPO so that stops any serious imagining of symptoms.

jigglebum · 30/09/2010 09:37

Patchwork - I am counting OPK from the day after positive OPK but you are right, not sure how accurate that is. My DH actually told me about morning SWIing but we are both rubbish in the mornings and with DS never get much chance unless we set an extra early alarm, which does not really do it for us!

STill feeling really rubbish - headache and sore throat today and not sure what I can take - just in case I am pregnant. DS has watched rather too much of Fireman Sam and Tractor Tom over the last few days. I also have a strange metallic taste in my mouth after eating or drinking - so I am either very good at imagining symptoms or we have been successful this month.

My alarm call is my son - he wakes up but plays and chats in his cot for ages, so if we can we do it then. No pressure, just if time allows. Luckily, we were able to do it in the mornings when I was ovulating this month. So time will tell.

OK - jigglebum I am 8 dpo today if I count from the day after the OPK sign, sounds like a pretty good guide to me. Metallic taste sounds really promising too btw, fingers crossed. Is your AF due Wednesday too?

Cramping again today. Feel abit tired and hungry, but nothing really. Cramping is what makes me think something is going on. Who knows though.

jigglebum · 30/09/2010 12:04

Patchwork - Yes I think so - weds or thurs next week. I think I will wait to test until next tuesday or so rather than the weekend.

Cramping sounds promising but you just never know do you. Fingers crossed for us all.

Soooo I went to the shop to get some nappies and thought, might as well get some more CB digital prego tests - promising myself not to do one, as I am 5 days away from AF due! Obviously I did one anyway and GOT A BFP, really quickly! OMG. Obviously I will use up the four others I have over the next few days, but I am OVER THE MOON.

I really hope you all join me soon - good luck and lots of positive thoughts being sent your way.

jigglebum · 01/10/2010 18:08

Patchwork - congratulations - really pleased for you. Hope the others all turn positive too!

I felt so awful this morning I did a test in the end but only a Boots own one - which say they are accurate only from the day you are overdue - unsurprisingly as about a week early it was negative. Was going to go into town today and get some CB ones but it pissed down all day so did not bother.

Feeling so much better this afternoon after a week of flu like symptoms and a stonking headache for 24 hours but don't feel so pregnant now. Metallic taste gone too. Oh well just have to wait and see.

Patchwork - what would that make you EDD?

OP posts:
patchworkquilt · 01/10/2010 18:21

June 15 is my EDD

gettingonmyownnerves · 01/10/2010 22:55

congratulations patchwork, that's fantastic!
jigglebum it's still pretty early so keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Well, my MIL is here for the weekend and brought my thermometer, which i left at her place a couple of weeks ago - she was very discreet, don't know what she thought.
Ready to get back to temping and trying to figure out what my body is doing!

jigglebum · 05/10/2010 15:32

Well no joy for us this month unfortunately. Not sure what more we could have done and a week ago I would have sworn I was pregnant but that feeling seemed to disappear by the weekend and AF rocked up this morning. Nearly cried , as was so convinced this month was the one. How is everyone else doing?

OP posts:
patchworkquilt · 05/10/2010 18:35

I am sorry to hear that jigglebum I have been waiting and hoping.

gettingonmyownnerves · 05/10/2010 21:46

Really sorry to hear that jigglebum, that's so disappointing! It's hard to know what else you can do, sometimes.
I am 8DPO, had sore boobs for a few days but not anymore so expect to start spotting in the next few days.
I think we did manage to SWI on the day I ovulated but not leading up to it so thought I had a chance but think it's unlikely now.
