Hiya,

I put August as its a little late for July!

I'm TTC number 4(!)

Due to test on the 15th August but don't think we have much chance this month as its only our first and DH has been ill for a few days and now I've got the bug, so not much romance happening!

So just wonderded if anyone is just starting TTC and wanted to join me?

Oh Liz you just mad me have the biggest chuckle. Poor DH, like you have said before, we don't need em now!! Lol. Been making a bit of an effort on that front every couple of days, although when we did 'it' last night, it bloody hurt as DH kept hitting my cervix I think (DH just thinks his willy has got bigger!!! I'll let him have that) :)

Filled out that NHS form at the Docs on Monday. I too have never claimed in my life, so it will be a bit odd getting stuff for nothing. Re the £190 thing, I have read about that too and apparently this government are phasing it out by the end of January 2011, and you have to be 25 weeks or more to claim so we may be losing out there. TBH though, how the hell will £4.75 per week help with a healthy pregnancy??? Might have help towards a new pram though!!

MW rang this morning, she's gonna try and do my booking visit in between Xmas and New Year, but may be New Year. Then my scan will be booked then for 12-14 weeks. Can't bloody wait!!

lizandlulu · 16/12/2010 14:58

iwish hope you do ov this week! and feel better form sore throat!

madkatz that is some christmas holiday! you lucky bugger, i have got to go to work inbetween christmas and new yearXmas Sad

klou i will have to ask about that form next time i go in, i didnt realise the £190 would be paid in weekly amounts, wont miss it thenXmas Grin thought it would be one lump sum, i should be so lucky! it says on my leaflet that it can be used to stay healthy or for anything you wish. (in other words, liek anyone is going to buy friut and veg with it, more like put it towards something for babyXmas Hmm) which is exactly what i would be doing with it, if i do get it. no one is oging to buy healthy stuff just cause they give you the money for it would they? cause i know i wouldnt. i suppose a voucher would be a better idea if the governmet really wanted you to buy that sort of thing?

KLou111 · 16/12/2010 15:29

It is a lump sum Liz I was just breaking it down, if they want you to use it to eat healthy, £4.75 isn't much really, not that I would complain lol, as would prob put it toward a pram :)

Starisonthetree · 16/12/2010 16:19

Posted on her a while ago as Eaglewings. Seems like there has been some very positive news since I last looked Xmas Grin

Sadly no luck for us yet, had to wait 31 days rather than 28 to get the bad news.

Trying to think of good reasons not to be pregnant over Christmas and other than not having to avoid pate and wine am not sure there are many...

Anyway, congratulations to those of you who have had a bfp, keep telling us how its going

lizandlulu · 16/12/2010 17:10

klou ahh i get youBlush

hiya starisonthetree sorry you have had no luck yet, keep going!

just looking on the net for a tiramisu recipe cause i have lost mine, and it just dawned on me, i cant have it cause of the raw eggShock might just leave them out anyway, i cant remember mine having eggs in, just the marscapone and custard mixed together.

so think of all the tiramisu, wine, stilton and pate you can have!

GruffaloMama · 18/12/2010 22:22

Hi all - star sorry to hear you've not been lucky yet - will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Thanks to all ref work - I just can't help feeling a bit guilty. But I didn't take the job knowing I was preg (Ov'ed on 31 Oct, accepted job on 30 Oct). So I should just get over myself.

Life here is fine - am 9+4 now and not exactly 'showing' but very definitely am a lot thicker around the waist. Feeling a bit less pukey which is great but now eating lots. Gagging to get through the next few days at work and then have 10 days off. Hurray!

lizandlulu · 19/12/2010 14:17

hey grufflao, glad you are feeling better, i am feeling worse! i feel ok in the mornings, then get worse all day till i feel awful in the evenings. yesterday i was at a wedding and had to leave at 7pm, just felt really sicky and had to come home, went to bed at half 8, i reasoned if i was alseep i couldnt feel sickXmas Smile slept all night solid till dd woke at 7 to open the bloody advent calendar aaarrrggghhhhhh!

KLou111 · 19/12/2010 15:06

Ditto Liz, jealous Gruffalo!!

Did our Xmas food shop yesterday as it was bad snow so knew would be quiet. Was in Tesco and said to DH, we?ve got to go, I feel like shit. It was just all the hustle and bustle. It was quieter than normal, but still quite busy. My head was spinning and I felt as though at any minute I was going to throw up! Bought some ginger nut biscuits and felt so much better!!

I?m feeling sicky and achy in the day, but not being sick, cannot sleep all the way through the night either which is driving me mad, as I LOVE my sleep!! Got to 3am (fell asleep at 9:30pm!!) and that was it til about 6. Suppose I?d better get use to the lack of though lol!

Normally, DH would not have been impressed with my falling asleep so early on a Saturday night, but we had a 'little chat' yesterday and he told me he is not a mind reader and I have got to tell him how I am, how I am feeling and what is going on with my body etc as he hasn't got a clue. I apologised for falling asleep so early, he laughed and he said what am I apologising for??? You're pregnant! Was very sweet.

Have since bought him the book 'The Expectant Dad's Survival Guide'!!

lizandlulu · 19/12/2010 20:22

sorry your not feeling well klou hopefully it wont be for long. i think i have lost weight this week from not eating proper evening meals, i just cant face them.

on a brighter note, mamas and papas have had a sale this weekend which i have only just found out about. i wasnt going to buy anything till after the 12 week scan, but those 2 blankets i was on about weeks ago were in the sale, so have bought them. and a shirt type top. only looked in those areas tho, didnt want to tempt myself by looking at anything else

MadKatz · 20/12/2010 10:46

Sorry you're not feeling great KLou.

no news here yet, still BD'ing as CM still showing and then wait to test.

Want it to happen but not sure it will this month as both DH and I have had colds and dont feel like doing anything

KLou111 · 20/12/2010 11:07

lol Liz I remember you mentioning the blankets ages ago!! Well done you! I funnily enough weighed myself this morning. I have put on 1lb since last Monday although I haven't been really eating. Confused, or it's a big baby!!

Finger crossed Madkatz

GruffaloMama · 20/12/2010 12:57

Klou if it's a pound already I don't fancy being you in 8 months' time Wink

Remember that although the bean might be teeny tiny your uterus has probably nearly doubled in size and you'll be increasing the amount of blood in your circulatory system. Or that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. Your metabolism changes now too so that you get more out of the food you're eating (IIRC) which can also explain preg-related constipation. Nice. Is it any wonder I'm not feeling frisky? I'm bloated, full of S*@# and still often wanting to puke.

Madkatz Hope the SWI does its thing. Sorry to hear you've got colds - makes it miserable, doesn't it?

Liz glad you got your blankets. BTW Gap's sale has started and I got some jumpers for work.

KLou111 · 20/12/2010 15:44

lol Gruffalo 8 months of that, I dread to think!! I like your excuse, do you mind if I steal it too??

Like you Gap tip too :)

lizandlulu · 20/12/2010 21:15

i am 9 weeks on wednesday and have read in one of the baby mags that the uterus is now the size of a grapefruit, so its got to be pushing everything else upwards hasnt it? i think i ihave actually lost weight this week. according to the scales at work i have lost 1kg which is 2 pounds! seeing as i have lived on toast and marmite and eaten no chocolate or biscuits (apart from linzer bisciuts 3 times a week from costa, but thats more habit than cause i want it! and seeing as i have them in the mornings, they go down quite well)

besides the savoury preferences i am also craving orange juice (would it be a craving already? it just really really fancy it rather than my usual cup of tea. think craving is abit strong?)

do you know i much prefer this thread and talking to you girls rather than the other due in july thread, so say there is about 50 people on it, no one replies for days on end

lizandlulu · 20/12/2010 21:24

sorry i am ten weeks on wednesday!!

KLou111 · 21/12/2010 10:28

well it's nice you're still here Liz know what you mean about the ante-natal threads, too many people.

With you on the orange juice. I have my 250ml for breaky then have to stop myself drinking the whole 1 litre!

I'm 7 weeks today :), only the size of a kidney bean here! Not sure on the uterus though.

Iwish · 22/12/2010 18:51

Hi all! Long time no see!!

How are you Liz klou gruffalo and madkatz?

3dpo here so nothing too exciting to report. Have you OV'd yet madkatz?

Welcome star. Hope you are ok.

MadKatz · 22/12/2010 20:37

yes ov'd and waiting

Iwish · 22/12/2010 21:59

When can you test? :)

lizandlulu · 22/12/2010 22:47

fingers crossed for both of youXmas Smile

Iwish · 23/12/2010 14:12

Hi Liz. Thanks Hun :). How are you?

KLou111 · 23/12/2010 15:36

So, are we all set for the festivities????

Feeling OK here, just still got an odd appetite, either starving (rarely) or a banana does me all day! So want to eat, for baby mainly, but don't want to be sick, am I being selfish? Not sure what to do. Tried force feeding myself at one point, but felt ill all night.

lizandlulu · 23/12/2010 16:42

i am sure what you are eating is fine klou i dont think at this stage you need to eat any more than usual, dont force feed yourself! its odd how before i was pg i would love to eat what i want, now i actually have a choice of nearly anything, i dont want itSad

i did my food shop in tesco today and all the lovely foos would usually be screaming out to me and finding its way into my trolly, but i hardly bought any choclatey things apart from what dh would like.

KLou111 · 23/12/2010 20:42

I know what you mean Liz tis the season to indulge, and I just don't fancy it either!
I know there is a tin of Quality Street under our tree, which would usually only last 3 days in our house (with DH probably only having 6 max lol) but I think the tin will still be full for weeks!

GruffaloMama · 23/12/2010 22:24

Aw - you might suddenly find you ease off on the munchies. I'd not worry about it until then... I was so pukey yesterday could hardly move all evening. But much better today so have been able to eat.

More importantly I've been able to make mincepies and decorate the christmas tree. Was off work today with my DS so glad that I didn't feel too sick!

Hi Iwisk - hope you're lucky this month.
