Ahead of Fairtrade Fortnight (22 Feb - 7 Mar) and to celebrate two years of commitment from Tate & Lyle to switch to Fairtrade-certification, we're inviting you to submit a recipe for The Mumsnet Biscuit.

It could be one of your tried-and-tested recipes or an entirely new recipe of your invention, but we want recipes we'd all be happy to give to our kids using Fairtrade ingredients that are readily available.

Please upload your recipe and then post the title of your recipe on this thread by 15 Feb.

We'll choose our favourite three recipes from those submitted, make them and have a tasting session in HQ (tough job but someone has to do it ).

The winning recipe will be announced on 26 Feb.

The creator of the winning Mumsnet biscuit recipe will win a Kitchenaid Artisan mixer.

May the best biscuit win

I added chocolate and cherry hearts in time for Valentine's but stupidly called them "will you be my valentine" As if ANYONE will look that up in the search part of recipes.....can I please therefore change the name to (very, very boring) "Chocolate and dark cherry hearts".............I really hope whoever is making the biscuits to test enjoyed them, I made them yesterday and they really are yummy

I've added two recipes but forgot to give my name! Does that mean I can't be in with a chance?

My recipes were Peanut Butter Cookies and Frosties Crisp Crunch.

Ooh, I know!

Frosties Crisp Crunch

But I can't find the other one.

TediBersMorRad · 15/02/2010 11:46

Oh, here it is.

Peanut Butter Cookies

But I guess I lose out by being so amateurish...

GreatGooglyMoogly · 26/02/2010 17:00

bumpybecky · 26/02/2010 17:06

I reckon everyone at MNHQ is feeling too full to announce anything after stuffing themselves sampling all those biscuits!

GreatGooglyMoogly · 26/02/2010 17:38

Or, heaven forbid, that they have forgotten

GeraldineMumsnet · 26/02/2010 17:41

Hello everyone, sorry for keeping you on tenterhooks all day.

We have, indeed, been baking madly and stuffing ourselves with biscuits .

So without further ado the winner of best biscuit and a Kitchenaid Artisan mixer (courtesy of Tate&Lyle) is imaginewittynamehere for her lovely lemon biscuits.

Easy-to-make, do what they say on the recipe, sweet with a slight edge (a bit like MN ) and very more-ish.

Congratulations!! Please email [email protected] so that we can organise your prize.

And thank you to everyone who submitted such great recipes. The Mumsnet recipes biscuit barrel is now veritably groaning with wondrous concoctions.
