Climate scientists to follow

Hi, any recommendations of any level headed, calm climate scientists that are particularly good to follow?

I am well and truly worried out of mind at the moment, the unseasonal warm weather here in the UK and the recent flooding in Spain isn’t helping.

Thanks!

If you are worried about climate change the last thing you want to do is follow a climate scientist- that will make you feel much worse!

I used to feel worried (and still do if really pressed on the subject) but things only improved for me when I just decided to be in my own little bubble of ignorance and happiness. I do my bit don't get me wrong - but I can't spend my only short life worrying about things I have no control over.

Just be happy op, you deserve to be happy. X

Sign up for Hannah Ritchie's email from Our World in Data and watch Simon Clark on YouTube. Helen Czerski writes about oceans and often this includes climate change impacts.

YouTube channel Just Have a Think is good at discussing potential technological solutions. If you want to see more humorous/angry video then go for Climate Town.

Most of them are now on blue-sky. There's been a big climate emigration from Twitter, and there's starter packs available for people to follow.

In the UK, Carbon Brief are on there. They are award winning climate journalism. Simon Evans is their chief exex and worth following.

In the UK also, the climate change committee, met Office. It depends what you're after? No one person does everything, so it's better to follow research centres, but some focus on meteorological effects, some focus on energy decarbonisation, agriculture and food systems, water, forests, particular technologies, industry...

They will give you a better idea of what is being done.

Carbon Brief covers climate science, energy and policy, specialising in clear, data-driven articles to improve the understanding of climate change.
