Solar farms/ agricultural land

Just catching up on countryfile (my kids a fan!) and there was a segment on solar farm siting/ the controversy around using high quality agricultural land for solar panels.

Any agronomists/ farmers / generally knowledgeable bods know whether it would be possible - if the solar panel science existed to make them this portable/ easy to install and move- whether it could be possible to use fields being rested/ left fallow, as shorter term “pop up” solar farms? They would then move round accordingly- so you never “lose” land to the solar site?

Would it just impact too badly on soil recovery?

@FloatyBoaty I've just reread your post. I love the idea of pop up solar farms but I suspect the infrastructure of cables and grid connection for multiple sites would be prohibitive.
