Edinburgh for somewhere lovely and public transport friendly?

I really fancy a few days away in January and was wondering if anyone fancied the same in Edinburgh?
We live in a ground floor flat in the Old town of Edinburgh (10 mins walk from centre). All local amenities, supermarkets, soft play etc. The meadows (big green park) are at the end of our street. Walking distance to Edinburgh castle, Princes street, Royal mile etc etc.
We have 2 bedrooms, one double, one with bunk beds and also a cot.
Anyone interested? What could you swap me?

Oh yes, public transport friendly is cos we don't have a car and really don't need one where we live!
