Holiday accommodation in exchange for gardening

Are there any website or organisations - a bit like Trusted House Sitters that match people looking for a short holiday that are prepared to donate few hours of gardening each day or similar, in exchange for their accommodation?

We have a holiday let and are a bit quiet at this time of year, however we have lots of weeding and garden prepping jobs that need to be done. Would happily offer 5 days free accommodation in exchange for some help.

Thanks

Sounds like a great idea. Sorry but I can't help with how you would go about advertising this. Good luck

Oh god I’d love that 😂. I’ve been known to do the odd bit of easy hand weeding when I’ve stayed in places with gardens.

At face value it seems like a good idea but this kind of barter arrangement can often go sour. You would need to be very detailed when specifying what work you expected to be done in lieu of rent. If not you might feel cheated if they don’t meet your standards and expectations. Then of course if you are in UK and get unexpected rain, they might not get much gardening done at all. Would they get a free holiday or would you then try to get rent from them?

I know that reads like I’m pouring cold water on a lovely idea. I’m just suggesting you are both clear on what the arrangement is going in so as to avoid potential conflict

Maybe woofing, you get people with small holdings on there but you need to be really clear beforehand.

I've done wwoof and hosted work away and it's been fantastic! There's an expectation to give a cultural experience as in chat, maybe eat together a bit, and we have made lots of good friends. Read profiles very carefully and you'll find great people. Work away no good here since Brexit, Help X is an alternative and wwoof
