Pregnancy after discectomy

Hi,
I had surgery for a slipped disc in March of this year, after around 3 years of sciatica pain and numbness in one side.
A month later, I got pregnant. I'm now around 23 weeks and am experiencing terrible back pain. I've not yet had a surgery follow up as this was supposed to be in July but they cancelled and moved this to November.

I was wondering if I could hear from anyone else who has been in this situation and what happened with the pregnancy/birth, and if there are any dangerous symptoms to look out for.

I'm aware I need to be evaluated for an epidural before delivery, which is already booked in.

Is there any help I can get with lower back pain, or anything I can do to help myself as I also have a physical job?

Hasn’t your obstetrician spoke to your surgeon by now? Sounds like you probably need to get in touch and ask for an earlier follow-up. They will probably want to be monitoring your back more closely because it probably won’t have had time to recover fully and they may be able to help advise about how to protect your back at delivery/what the pros and cons are for the different modes of delivery given your back problems.

I did go to maternity triage today and they've told me to attempt to get in contact with the surgery team to try and get seen sooner for a follow up. I do understand it was too early to get pregnant afterwards without letting it heal correctly, but it's happened now and I just want to protect my back the best I can.
