Coccyx pain after falling downstairs.

Hello. Has anyone ever suffered with coccyx pain?
I fell down the stairs Wednesday night and have had bad coccyx pain ever since. I tried to get a GP appointment but can’t be seen until Tuesday. I’ve got pain killers to be getting on with.
I have a history of disc prolapses (which has happened twice, both times identified by an MRI scan) so I suffer with back pain anyway.
I don’t think I have a prolapse this time (as it’s a different kind of pain) but obviously I would have liked to see a Dr.

It is unbearable to sit or get into a standing position but once I’m walking about, just a dull ache.

I don’t feel I can go to A&E as it’s not an emergency and if a GP won’t see me, then I doubt I will get seen at hospital.

From what I’ve googled, coccyx pain is very painful but just a case of putting up with it as nothing can really be done? Has anyone had a similar situation?
Thank you. Xxx

I fell off the bottom of slide and bounced, I heard a crack and the pain it was a dull but intense ache straight away. Sitting was agony and getting back up, this went on for 2 years altogether it gradually got better. I never went to a&e but I suspect I broke it. 4 years later it hurts from time to time. I had to use a donut cushion at work and sitting for long periods causes it to hurt

Ouch. That sounds very similar. Thank you for replying. I haven’t heard of a donut cushion but I’ll have a Google.

You have my sympathies! I fell down the stairs about 5 years ago right on my coccyx. It was so painful 😣

I went to minor injuries and they just said ti keep up with the pain relief.

It's fine now but up until a year ago, I'd still get twinges/aches if I'd been sat down for a long time.

Aw thank you. Did they xray or anything or just listen to your symptoms?

No X-ray. They said it wouldn't make a difference to the treatment - to keep moving and keep up with the painkillers 🙄

It is honestly fine now but I can still remember how breathtakingly painful it was at the time.
