cyclone or something in WA. Hopefully they'll be getting lots of rain as it crosses the country so they can fill all those empty dams. Water shortage has been awful. It was storming in sydney a couple of hours ago.

Ahem. In Melbourne, CD was cloudy at first but beautiful sunshine for al fresco scoffs by midday.

Boxing Day, i.e. now - lovely sunshine all day.

No rain forecast until Friday.

All good on the surface, but we need the rain in the catchments. So AND for Australia.

VFemme · 26/12/2009 01:29

Has poured solidly for about 20 hours here and cabin fever is setting in.

But never mind, it'll be sunny again in a couple of days - roll on January!

Also, not sure if it is actually raining in the catchment areas. 20mm on the Harbour Bridge is no good to anyone.

Lovely sunny and warm here in Melbourne with a slight breeze!

Perfect for the kids to be out playing with their Xmas presents. We are all in shorts and tshirts...

ThumbleBells · 26/12/2009 05:11

sure is raining here (north of Central Coast) but hurrah! Much nicer temp than the muggy humid 30+ degrees it was just prior to Christmas. And as DH says, it's more reminiscent of UK Christmas, rain.

quite happy thanks - we had an outdoor lunch yesterday but dinner was indoors, and seeing as it was a roast goose dinner, being cooler and damp was very useful.

FolornHope you do sound bitter.

Here in Adelaide it's a pleasant 28 degrees so fine for the beach or pool perhaps or maybe I'll just stroll to my sunlounger and sip a cool drink. Warming up to a scorcher of 37 next week, but hey, that's fine we'll be on our summer hols.

Hope that helps.

Ahem it was lovely in NZ on Christmas Day and not dull in any sense of the word. Probably the nicest Christmas Day weather in my 8 years here. About 25 degrees here in Auckland, clear blue skies, lots of sunshine.

Though if a walk on the beach, then a play in the garden, then a bbq with lovely salads, followed by a great Boxing Day at friends' house in their pool sounds dull, then yes, guilty as charged
