Both bought the same 2 Wii games. No reciepts so don't think I can take them back. What would you do with them?

sell on ebay? then she can buy what she wants/another game. lots of kids get money for xmas and will be looking to spend it just after.

Have you checked with them both they've not got receipts? One of them must, I'd have thought? Don't worry about them being hurt, no-one gets sentimental about giving a computer game, surely?

chaosisawayoflife · 24/12/2009 06:29

Even if no receipts you should be able to take it into HMV or similar and swap for another game.

I did check with both of them, neither kept the reciept. They each thought they has 'dibseyed' those particular titles from a little list my boys had produced. I e-mailed Asda where my mother-in-law bought hers but they haven't got back to me yet.I thought if they said I could take them back in advance, I'd avoid looking like a shoplifter arriving in the store with 2 games and no proof of purchase. I'll try them again after the return to work but if I get no joy there I'll do the ebay thing as makkapakkamoo suggested. I've had a quick look and it seems quite common to sell even new games there. Thanks to the 3 of you for your suggestions.

Go back to a retailer, any one will take a sealed box I would think. Or ebay...I have just got more for 'lips' in a sealed box than you would pay in a shop.

wordsonascreen · 29/12/2009 19:25

I've got 2 duplicates both sealed but no receipt (a wii game and a dvd) on either am planning on HMV and swapping.

Did it last year no problem.
